PRINCIPAL EVENTS IN LIFE: After school Irene taught school in the Ogema area for a short period of time. They then moved to the Rockford where she taught elementary education until her retirement. Irene loved teaching and children. She also loved singing in the choir, traveling and organizations that helped children.

Then she worked as a secretary to the principal at the Gilman High School. They moved to Medford and she worked as a secretary at the Taylor Co. D.A. office, Klinner Insurance, and the Taylor County Commission on Aging where she was instrumental in the volunteer driver program. She was also active in the Taylor County BB/BS program. She retired due to ill health. She enjoyed downhill skiing, all types of books, and spending their winter months in Hot Springs, AR for 20 years.

They then owned and operated the former Jake’s Bar in Stetsonville now known as Les’s Bar . In 1966, he started driving truck for Jochimsen and Smith Inc. until his retirement in 1990. Les enjoyed hunting, bowling, fishing, jigsaw puzzles and playing cards.

Sudie L. Anderson, age 85, of Medford, WI, formerly of Williamsburg, KY, passed away Wednesday, March 19, 2014, at the Memorial Nursing and Rehab Center, Medford, Wi.

She was born Oct. 9, 1928 at Harlan, KY. She married James Albert Anderson , July 8, 1946, in Williamsburg and he preceded her in death Oct. 1, 2000.
She was a mother and homemaker. She enjoyed gardening, farming, canning, and playing softball.
She was a member of the Mountain Ash Church of God.

Preceded in death by her parents, James and Amanda (Miracle) Osborne; husband, James Albert Anderson; son, Gary Anderson; brother, J.C. Osborne; sisters, Sarah Jane Holcomb, Cora Huddleston, Edna Byrd and Pauline Douglas.

She is survived by daughters, Diana Winger & husband, Elton of Gilman, WI,Donna Smith & husband, Marty, of Nicholasville, KY; grandchildren, Melissa Peterman, Jackie Riddle, Amy Spears, Chris Winter, Dan Broaddick; great-grandchildren, Amanda Anderson, Jason Ball, Justin Ball,Ryan Riddle, Cole Riddle, Seth Broaddick, Lydia Broaddick; great-great-grandchild, Reagan Anderson; brothers & sisters, Bill (Barb) Osborne of Sidney, OH, Gladys Osborne of Taylor, MI and Mary White of MI.
