Every year he would join his cousins for the family downhill skiing trip in Powderhorn and Whitecap in the U.P. He was an avid musician who played the trumpet in high school and taught himself how to play the guitar and drums. Chad enjoyed cooking, gardening, he loved spending time with his family and friends and he was a devoted father to his 3 children.

They then owned a hobby farm in the Township of Greenwood and also owned and operated Smola Brother’s Logging with his brother, George and Smola Trucking until his retirement in 1998.Jim enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, bowling, dartball and meeting with his friends to play cribbage. He loved being outdoors, nature and wildlife. Most of all Jim enjoyed being with his family and attending and watching his grandchildren’s events.

After moving to Medford in 1971, she was active at Holy Rosary Church, with the hospital auxiliary, the Taylor County Commission on Aging and the city election board. Dorothy was a volunteer with the Red Cross, and Memorial Hospital in Medford. She helped teach Catechism at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, playing cards and gardening with her husband. She loved music and playing piano. She especially enjoyed cooking and entertaining guests at her home.

He enjoyed Motorcross, hunting, fishing, driving his 1969 Superbee, and camping. Jerry loved being around family and friends, especially watching his children in their activities.
