DOROTHY M. THIELKE


Dorothy M. Thielke, 99, of Medford passed away on December 30, 2016 at Country Gardens in Medford. She was born on September 23, 1917 to Peter and Mary Werner in Medford. She attended Holy Rosary Elementary School and graduated from Medford High School in 1935. She married Stanley P. Thielke on September 21, 1940 in Medford, he preceded her in death on February 8, 1976. Dorothy worked for Bootzin’s Mercantile, Federal Land Bank, Taylor County Welfare Department, and as a secretary at Medford Senior High School for 22 years until her retirement in 1985.

In her spare time Dorothy enjoyed reading, traveling, crossword puzzles, playing bridge and cribbage, making quilts, hiking, and spending time with family and loved ones.

Dorothy is survived by her son, Tom (Linda) Thielke of Westboro; grandchildren Anne (Scott) DeFoe of Andover, MN, Erinn (Phil) Tubbs of Amhurst, Trigg (Linda Lopez) Thielke of Ogema, and Trent (Terri) Thielke of Hudson; great-grandchildren Alysse, Beth, Trekk, Jett, Olivia, Roxane, Waylon, Audrey, and Violet; brother, Dick (Shirley) Werner of Medford, and also by her Brother in Law and Sister in Law Allan (Midge) Thielke. She is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many other friends and family.

In addition to her husband Dorothy is preceded in death by 5 brothers: William, George, Harry, Mark, Peter and 2 sisters: Margaret and Monica.

A memorial mass for Dorothy will be held on Thursday, January 12 at 11:00 AM at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Medford with Father Phil Juza officiating, followed by a private family burial. Visitation will take place on Thursday, January 12 from 9:45 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Holy Rosary Catholic School and Medford Public Library.

ELEANOR M. DRYMILLER

Eleanor Mae Louise Drymiller, 84, of Medford, passed away Friday, December 30, 2016 at Aspirus Care and Rehab in Medford.
Eleanor was born January 10, 1932 in Lake Geneva, WI to Frank and Cora (Renner) Erckfritz. She graduated from Harvard High School in Harvard, IL. She married Gerald J. Drymiller on February 23, 1952 in Harvard. Gerald preceded her in death on June 4, 1994.
She is survived by her children: Terrie (Montie) Ruffner of Plattsmouth, NE, Theodore Drymiller of Gilman, Lauri (George) Palmer of Sidney, MI, Patricia Drymiller of Fargo, ND, Jeffrey (Christine) Drymiller of Clarksville, TN, Kathy (Edward) Holub of Medford, Tammy (Terry) Fieselman of Medford,and Russell Drymiller of Withee, 33 Grandchildren, 32 Great Grandchildren, 1 Great Great Granddaughter, and several nieces and nephews.
Eleanor is preceded in death by her Parents, Husband, Sister Bertha Fischer, Grandson Joseph Walker, and Granddaughter Stacey Prokopiak, Great Granddaughter Zoee Williams.
Eleanor will always be remembered as a dedicated mother and farmer’s wife. After raising her 8 children, she went on to work as the Secretary for Clark County Co-Op Extension in Neillsville. She then went on to work as a Dietary Aid at the Medford Memorial Hospital.
She enjoyed picture puzzles, embroidery, sewing, canning, gardening, reading, crossword puzzles. She loved to clean and arrange her husband tools in his shop for him.
Eleanor loved her family, although her children live throughout the country, she treasured her time spent with each of them.
She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Medford, and the American Legion Auxiliary.
Funeral services for Eleanor will be held at 12 Noon, Monday, January 2, 2017 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Medford. Pastor Brian Mundt will officiate. Visitation will be held at the church on Monday beginning at 10:30 AM, until the time of service at 12 noon. Cremation rites will follow the service, burial of cremated remains will take place at the Lublin Cemetery at a later date.
In honor of Eleanor, memorial donations can be made to her family, for designation at a later date.

MARGARET M. SEIDEL

Margaret Mary Seidel, 94, of Rib Lake, passed away Wednesday December 28, 2016 at The Golden Living Center in Rib Lake.
Margaret was born July 11, 1922 to Michael and Rosa Schneider in the family home in which she then grew up in. She was the 6th of 14 children born to them. She attended Mud Lake School in Rib Lake and spent most of her 94 years in the Rib Lake area. It was here that she married the love of her life, Leonard (Jack) Seidel in 1942. Together they raised their three sons just outside of the village limits.
Margaret was a working mother, employed 30 years with Gem Products in Rib Lake. In 1985 at her husband’s request, she joined him in retirement, which they enjoyed together until his death in 1990. She was a homemaker, mother and wife that relied on the skills she learned as a child in her mother’s kitchen. The kitchen was her domain where she turned out countless pies, jars of jam and jelly, canned venison and canned vegetables. Margaret enjoyed listening to polka music while she worked in the kitchen and her radio scanner.
Margaret enjoyed dancing, gardening, cooking, canning, bowling, travelling and visiting with her friends, family and neighbors. As a lifelong member of the Good Shepard Catholic Church she participated as a member of the Christian Mothers, helping with church dinners and donating food as needed. She also served as a den mother when her sons were in the Rib Lake Cub Scouts.
After her husband’s death she enjoyed the companionship of her dear friend, Lyle Schmedegard, for 20 years. They filled each other’s lives with dancing, laughter and friendship until his passing in 2013. In 2012 she moved into the Village of Rib Lake after living 60 years in her home, with the last 24 being alone. Her family cherishes the memories of the simple and wholesome lifestyle she modeled, the values she taught of the benefits of hard work and of not being wasteful and the ability to take life as it comes, no matter what.
She is survived her Sons: Richard (Terri) Seidel of Fall Creek, Dale (Patty) Seidel of Brooklyn, 7 Grandchildren: Brian Seidel, Greg Seidel, Shari (Chad) Strasburg, Kim (Steve) Goetz, Michael Seidel, Suzette (Scott) Reynolds and Tracy (Michael) Procajlo; 8 Great Grandchildren: Reid (Shari) Strasburg, Laura and Nathan Seidel (Brian), Jessica and Randy (Suzette) Reynolds, and Alexander, Ethan and Sydney (Tracey) Procajlo; and 3 Great Great Granddaughters.
She was preceded in death by her husband Leonard Seidel, and sons Francis Seidel and infant Dennis Seidel; Brothers: Walter, Norbert and Michael; Sisters: Bernice, Bertha, Rosemary, Anne, Frieda, Rita and Emma.
Three of the family of fourteen survive: 2 Sisters: Marie (Paul) Froebe of Ft. Collins, CO, Agnes (Ross) Petersen of Phillips, and brother Gerald (Adrian) Schneider of Rib Lake, and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial Donations in honor of Margaret may be given to the family, proceeds will be designated to the Rib Lake Fire and EMS Department.
A funeral mass will be held at 11 AM, Friday December 30, 2016 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Rib Lake. Father Otto Bucher will officiate. Burial will follow in Lakeview Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday at Good Shepherd Church from 10 AM until the time of Mass at 11 AM.

EMILY A. ZENTNER



Emily A. Zentner, 95, of Marshfield, formerly of Medford, passed away Monday December 26, 2016 at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield, where she was under the care of St. Joseph Hospice and Palliative Care.
Emily was born June 28, 1921 in the Town of Hansen, Wood County, WI to George and Emma (Braeger) Zentner. She attended Westboro Grade School, and was a 1940 Graduate of Westboro High School.
She is survived by her sister Mildred (late Paul) Sweningson, Nephew Paul Sweningson, and very special Great Nephew Ethan Sweningson, all of Marshfield, and several nieces and nephews.
Emily is preceded in death by her Parents, Brothers: George, David, Victor Zentner, and Twin Brother Emmett Zentner.
Emily worked for over 40 years at Hurd Millwork. She enjoyed shopping at malls, bird watching, flower gardening and completing crossword puzzles. She loved spending time with her family, especially her Great Nephew Ethan. She was a former member of the Chequamegon Bird Club, and enjoyed volunteering at area nursing homes where she played cards with residents.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday December 31, 2016 at Hemer Funeral Home, Medford chapel. Pastor David Clements will officiate. Visitation will be held from 9:30 AM until the time of services at 11 AM. Burial of cremated remains will take place at Mt. Olive Cemetery, at a later date.

GEORGE E. TOM

George E. Tom, 78, of Deer Creek, passed away on December 23, 2016 at home. George was born on September 3, 1938 to Edward and Ann Tom. He attended Stetsonville schools. He married Rose Hamm, who survives him, in 1960 in St. Paul, MN. George worked in roofing, carpentry, road construction and most recently as a mechanic at Peterson Construction for 13 years.

In his spare time George enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, making firewood, playing cards, working in his garage, wood working, going to his camper, sleigh rides, and spending time with his family and friends. He was also a member of the Operating Engineers Union and Zion Ev. Lutheran Church, Stetsonville.

In addition to his wife George is survived by his children, Kathy Tom of Medford, Laurie (Jeff) Hartwig of Medford, and Jeff (Deb) Tom of Medford; grandchildren, Matt (Billie) Hartwig of Medford, Jason (Andrea) Hartwig of Medford, Rachel (Gary) McCully of Green Bay, Caitlin Fierke of Stetsonville, and Caleb Fierke of Medford;, great-grandchildren Tyler, Rylee, Wyatt, Clayton, and one on the way. George is further survived by his brothers Charles (Sandy) Tom of Medford, Herbert (Linda) Tom of Oklahoma, Phil (Sue) Tom of Westboro; sisters Rose (Alvin) Kloth of Medford, Bernice Cypher of Crivitz, Carolyn (Jerry) Nelson of Hales Corner.

George is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Clarence Tom.

A memorial service for George will be held on Friday, December 30 at Zion Ev. Lutheran Church, Stetsonville at 11:00 AM with Rev Richard Russow officiating. Visitation will take place at the church from 9:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00.

She loved her family and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
