Cody Patrick Weinke

 

Cody Patrick Weinke, 28, of Perkinstown, formerly of Rib Lake, passed away on July 28, 2021. 

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, August 4 at Woodland Community Church, N8609 Bus. Hwy. 13, Westboro, WI 54490. Interment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery, Rib Lake. 

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, August 3 at Hemer Funeral Home in Medford, and from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Woodland Community Church in Westboro.

Cody was born October 15, 1992 in LaCrosse to Todd Weinke and Michele Lekie.  He attended Rib Lake and graduated in 2011.  He was currently working at Pomp’s Tire Service in Abbottsford. 

When looking for Cody, you could find him on the lake, in the woods or with his three beautiful girls.  He loved spending time with his fiancĂ© Brittany.  Brittany was his whole world, along with his two girls Addilynn and Emmalynn.  Cody and Brittany were to be united in marriage on December 31, 2021. 

He is survived by his fiancĂ© Brittany Blair; two daughters, Addilynn and Emmalynn; mother, Michele (Mickey) Lekie; father, Todd (Paula) Weinke; brothers, Colter (Shianne) Weinke, Josh (Amber) Fallos, Tim (Amber) Fallos, and Eric Fallos; sister, Valerie (Ryan) Nelson; grandparents, Richard (Betty) Lekie, Randall (Priscila) Weinke; nephews, Zander, Zephlyn, and Jaxon; nieces, Zoey, Aurora, Isabella, and Ruby; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.   He is further survived by Brittany’s family/Cody’s in-laws-to-be: her parents, Mark (Mary Jo) Blair, Jeff (Tracy) Pernsteiner; her brothers, Brad (Shelbie) Blair, Phillip (Alissa) Blair, and Colin Blair; her grandparents, Dave (Shirley) Williams; and nieces and nephews, Kyle, Kimberley, Graham, and Evelyn. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any memorial contributions be made to the family to go towards an education fund for Cody’s girls.

MARCELLA ANN DUMS

Marcella Ann Dums, 88, of Medford, formerly of Rib Lake, passed away on July 24, 2021 at Medford Aspirus Care and Rehab, where she had resided since January of 2020.

A funeral mass for Marcella will take place at 11:00 AM on Friday, July 30, 2021 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church with Father Patrick McConnell officiating. Burial will follow at Historic St. Ann’s Cemetery. Visitation will take place at Holy Rosary Catholic Church on Friday, July 30, 2021 from 9:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM.

Marcella was born on home on November 28, 1932 to Margaret (Kolecheck) and John H. Dums. She attended Highland Elementary School in the township of Greenwood and graduated from Rib Lake High School in 1951. After high school Marcella was employed at Gem Products, Inc. of Rib Lake until its closing. She then worked at Hurd Millwork, Inc. of Medford until her retirement.

Marcella was a member of Our Lady of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Medford. She was a former member of Assumption Catholic Church of Chelsea where she was active in the Ladies Sodality. She was one of the founding members of Historic St. Ann’s Church. She worked various events at the Chelsea Conservation Club. Marcella was a member of the Chequamegon Bird Club. She also enjoyed gardening, traveling, and spending time with her family.

Marcella is survived by one sister, Helen M. Dums, of Medford and one brother, John J. (Mary) Dums of Rib Lake. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Marcella was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Joseph, Bernard (Hilda), and Donald (Helen Woolsey) Dums, and two sisters, Margaret (Lloyd) Vickers and Regina (Louis) Czerniak. She was also preceded in death by on niece, Karen Veltus.

Memorial donations in Marcella’s name may be given to either Historic St. Ann’s or Boy’s Town at PO Box 8000 Boys Town, NE 68010.

LUANNE M. MUELLER

Luanne Margaret Mueller, 85, of Medford, passed away on July 22, 2021, at Marshfield Medical Center in Marshfield, WI.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 28, 2021, at 10:00 am at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Medford with Pastor James Krueger officiating. Visitation will on Wednesday, July 28th at Immanuel Lutheran Church from 8:00 am until the time of the service at 10:00 am.

Luanne was born on August 4, 1935 in the town of Little Black, WI, to Chris and Hattie (Peissig) Brunner. She graduated from Medford High School in 1953. She worked in Chicago as a key punch operator for a period of time then moved back to Medford. On July 16, 1960 Luanne married Donald Mueller at Holway Lutheran Church. (They just celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary!)

Luanne provided in-home daycare for many years, worked at Tombstone Pizza, and was a bank teller at Fidelity National Bank for several years. After retirement, she was an active member of Ladies of Immanuel. She and Don loved travelling and being snowbirds, spending time in Arizona, New Mexico, Texas and Florida. She enjoyed gardening and being outdoors, walking with Don and their dog, Maxwell on the Pine Line Trail, cherishing time at her family’s cottage on Hull’s Lake, cheering on Wisconsin sports teams with Don, enjoyed reading and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Luanne was a wonderful and creative person and had a great way of making people around her feel very special.

Luanne is survived by her husband, Don; her sons, Joseph (Rhonda) Mueller, Jeffrey (Karen) Mueller, all of Medford, Lance Mueller of Tomahawk, Tim (Melody) Mueller, of Kronenwetter; Grandchildren, Jaclyn (Ryan) Lemke, Medford, Megan (Zach Mitchell) Mueller, Ingals, MI, Lauren (Corey) Paczkowski, Eau Claire, and Blake (Emily) Mueller of Fond Du Lac; Great Grandchildren, Bella and Luke Lemke, Jerry Mueller-Roiger, Trytan Paczkowski, and Everett Mueller; siblings, John (Jack) Brunner of Marshfield, James (Joanne) Brunner, and Carol Strebig, both of Medford; and sister-in-law, Donna Goodman of Medford; Luanne is further survived by many other family and friends.

She was proceeded in death by her parents; brothers, Galen, Terry, and Ricky; sisters, Arlene Boxrucker and Jeannie Hamrick.

JEANNE L. BROWN

Jeanne L. Brown, 78, of Medford, passed away on Sunday, July 25, 2021 at Country Gardens, under the care of Hope Hospice.

No services will be held. Burial will take place Prairie Homes Cemetery, in Waukesha.

Jeanne was born on June26, 1943 to Hugo and Ruth (Vallier) Multhauf in Milwaukee. She was a graduate of Bay View High School in Milwaukee.

On July 19, 1976 in Milwaukee, she married Wesley E. Brown; he preceded her in death on April 2, 2009. Together they owned and operated W.E. Brown Company in Milwaukee until selling the business on 1989. They moved to Medford in 1990 and started J&W Company, which they operated until Wesley’s passing.

In her spare time Jeanne enjoyed sewing, knitting, and talking with her family and friends.

Jeanne is survived by her 2 sons, Victor Kohnke of Virginia and Christopher (Joelle) Kohnke of Milwaukee and grandchildren, Candice, Jordan, Aidan, and Owen.

Jeanne is preceded in death by her parents and husband.

DONNA M. SHADRICK

Donna M. Shadrick, 78, of the Township of Worcester, passed away on Friday, July 23, 2021 at Aspirus Hospital in Medford.

Funeral services for Donna will take place at 11:00 AM on Thursday, August 12, 2021 at Hemer Funeral Home, Medford chapel, with Pastor David Clements officiating. Burial will follow at Medford Evergreen Cemetery II. Visitation will take place at Hemer Funeral Home on Thursday, August 12, 2021 from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM.

Donna was born on July 27, 1942 to Reinhold and Evelyn (Schlais) Strebe in the town of Goodrich. She married Ernest F. Homer on July 1959 and he preceded her in death on January 12, 2009. She the married Robert Shadrick on December 17 2010 and he survives. After raising her children she worked various jobs before being employed at Tombstone for 30 years, until her retirement.

In her spare time she enjoyed, golfing, bowling, gardening, fishing, camping, and spending time outdoors.

In addition to her husband, Donna is survived by her children, Rick (Brittany Shipp) Homer of Goodrich, Keith (Audrey) Homer of Little Black, and Mark Homer of Medford; grandchildren, Maria, Alyson (Brock) Thums, Dylon (Olivia McDermott) Homer , Jason (Amy) Homer, Zach, Mikie, Shawn, Hank, Frank, Chloe, and Maria ( maynard) Stange; great-grandchildren, Remmi, Rowan, Connor, Evelyn, Skylar, and Megan; sister, Diane (Mike Michelson) Behling of Rhinelander. She is further survived by other family and friends.

In addition to her parents and first husband, Donna is preceded in death by her son Howard “Howie” Homer on September 1, 1986 and brother, Harold Streibe.

GEORGE J. BECKER

George J. Becker, 86, of Little Black, passed away on Wednesday, July 21, 2021, at his home, under the care of Hope Hospice.

George was born on December 13, 1934 to James and Margaret (Hippe) Becker in Athens. He attended Athens schools. He married Nancy Kowalke on November 29, 1958; she preceded him in death on May 26, 2010. After their marriage, they farmed in the town of Little Black for 49 years. He also drove bus and milk truck.  George had a green thumb and enjoyed gardening. He also enjoyed wood working and building cabinets, chests, and gun cabinets. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

George is survived by his 5 children, Greg (Angie) Becker of Gilman, Dennis (Karen) Becker of Medford, Kathy Becker of Stetsonville, Daniel Becker of Fruita, CO, and Scott Becker of Medford; 8 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; brother, Jimmy (Brenda) Becker of Tomahawk, and special friend Leona Becker.

George is preceded in death by his parents, wife, son, Steve Becker; brother, Carl Becker; sisters, Elizabeth Zak and Emma Pierce.

EDWARD J. BOXRUCKER

 



Edward J. Boxrucker, 95, of Medford, passed away Friday, July 16, 2021, at Stoney River Assisted Living Facility in Marshfield.  

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 26, 2021 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, with Reverend Patrick McConnell officiating.  Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.  Interment will be at the Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery, with Military Rites given by the Stetsonville American Legion Post 519, will follow. 

Edward was born on July 19, 1925, attended schools in Dorchester and Stetsonville and graduated from Medford High School in 1944.  He participated in school sports, enjoyed playing baseball for Stetsonville and participated in many other sports.  His marriage to Jean M. Ziehlke took place on May 12, 1952, at Holy Rosary Church in Medford.  Together, they enjoyed camping and traveled to all fifty states and throughout Europe.  He loved his family and greatly treasured times spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

He was a veteran of World War II, serving overseas in England and Germany, being discharged as a Staff Sergeant.  He was a charter member of the Medford National Guard, Co. A, 724 Eng Combat Bn, serving many years as their First Sergeant, being discharged a Lt. in 1956. 

Following his discharge from the Army, he was employed at Rib Lake Cheese as Office Manager until 1957.  He began employment as office manager for Taylor Electric Cooperative in 1979, when he was appointed General Manager of the Cooperative.  He served in that position until his retirement in 1992.  During this time, he served as President of Dairyland Power Cooperative Managers and Wisconsin Electric Cooperative managers association.  He also served similar positions in the Wisconsin Cooperative office managers association. 

Mr. Boxrucker was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, a lay minister of the church, a member of Casmir Cypher 4th Degree Knights of Columbus, and a 3rd Degree member of the Knights of Columbus in Medford.  He was a member of the Boxrucker Berry American Legion Post in Stetsonville, a past member of the Medford Curling Club, Medford Chamber of Commerce and the Medford Bowling League.  He was a stock holder in Black River Golf Club and golfed for many years.  Following retirement, he golfed at Tee Hi Golf Club in the Seniors League.  

He is lovingly survived by a daughter, Jill (Timothy) Koenig of Medford, granddaughters Katie (Joel) Sackett, of Eau Claire, Jeana (Andrew) Amsler, of Robbinsdale, MN, Kelly (Andrew) Rindt, Sheboygan, and great-grandchildren Claire, Luke and Jude Sackett, Vivian and William Amsler and Abigail, Nathan and Charlotte Rindt.  

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jake and Patsy Boxrucker; his wife Jean; siblings Leona (Edwin) Blasel, Al (Agnes) Boxrucker, Delores (Adolph) Dums, Raymond (Arlene) Boxrucker, and Clarence Boxrucker.   He is survived by a sister-in-law, Marge Boxrucker, Stetsonville.
