PRINCIPAL EVENTS IN LIFE: At the age of 12 Jack moved from Cicero, IL with his family to the Stetsonville, WI and later moved to Medford. During High School Jack participated in Golden Glove Boxing in Marshfield and Milwaukee and after graduating from Medford High School he signed with the Philadelphia Phillies and the Kansas City Royals as a Minor League Shortstop. In 1958 he began working at Adolph’s Barber Shop in Colby and then in 1960 he began working at Wally’s Barber Shop in Medford until his retirement in 2007. Jack was a lifelong fan of bowling, golfing, baseball and football. He refereed many basketball games throughout Northern Wisconsin. Jack was a fun loving husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed life to the fullest.

From 1967 until retirement in 1997 he owned & operated Ralph’s Carpet Service. They also operated a turkey farm in the township of Deer Creek for a period of time. He took care of the Legion ballpark beer stand in Stetsonville for 10 years, and the Centennial Community Center, Stetsonville storage unit from 1998 to the present time. He enjoyed making firewood and watching the birds.

Then she worked as a receptionist at the Harvey Co. in Medford until it was sold to Weather Shield Mfg. in Medford. She then worked many years there as the head receptionist until her retirement. She enjoyed crafts, sewing, cross country skiing, her grandchildren, her children’s activities, and in her earlier years, she enjoyed the cottage in northern WI.

PRINCIPAL EVENTS IN LIFE: After his education, he worked in Milwaukee for a period of time. Then he entered the US Army and was a WW II veteran having served from 1942-1945. In 1946 he returned to Medford and worked as a self employed carpenter and home builder in the area for many years until retirement. He enjoyed annually attending the 6th Armored Division reunions held nationally. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and watching football.

After his service release in October of 1945, he worked at the Mondeaux Lumber Co. in Medford which was later bought by Weather Shield Mfg.. He retired from Weather Shield in 1982. Lawrence was an avid reader and enjoyed playing cards, traveling and going on bus tours. He also enjoyed going to Dinner Theater Shows.
