PRINCIPAL EVENTS IN LIFE: US Army Veteran of WWII. After the service, he finished his education and entered the teaching profession as an Agriculture teacher first in Dorchester and then Medford for 38 years. He coached high school curling and had a couple of excellent teams who placed 1st at the state meet. He was president of the Taylor Co. youth fair for about 35 years. He was involved with Trees for Tomorrow, the Town & Country Breakfast, the livestock show & sale, and many activities with the FFA & FHA. Hugo had the utmost respect for the farming community and was proud to be part of it. He especially loved the farm visits and talking to the farm families. As busy as he was, he made time for his family, keeping Sundays as family day. Hugo was an avid sportsman enjoying hunting, fishing, especially fly fishing, organizing activities and getting involved.

In 1943 they moved to the Miller family farm in the township of Medford and resided there until 2000 when they moved to the city of Medford. While farming Esther also worked at Memorial Hospital in Medford for many years until her retirement. For the past 7 years she has resided at Country Gardens Assisted Living in Medford. She enjoyed crocheting, baking, playing cards, cooking and gardening.

PRINCIPAL EVENTS IN LIFE: Lester served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War as a Supply Sergeant from 1951 to 1959. After his time in the service he returned to the Town of Molitor where he farmed with his family until he and Viola moved to Racine where he worked as a machinist at American Motors for a couple of years. They then moved back to the Medford Area where he worked for the conservation department. In 1965 they then moved to Washington and in 1971 returned back to the Medford area where he worked as a machinist until his retirement in 1992. He enjoyed fishing, watching the Packers, the Brewers, NASCAR and spending time with his family.

He enjoyed spending time with his family, hunting, fishing, trapping, dancing, spending time at his pond, building model airplanes, tying fishing flies, planting trees, watching the GB Packers, and was an amateur taxidermist.
