He was a history buff, enjoyed dancing and listening to polka music, old cars, going to the Iola Car Show and the Steam and Engine Show in Edgar. Everett enjoyed traveling and going to the casino.

EDUCATION: He attended elementary Park School in the Town of Hoard and graduated from the 8th grade.
MARRIAGE INFORMATION: He married Alice M. Woempner on December 27, 1947 and lived on the family farm for 25 years.
PRINCIPAL EVENTS IN LIFE: He was the youngest son of Robert and Mary Paul. At the age of 14 he helped his brother Ray cut all the logs using a cross cut saw and skidded those logs across Pople River over the ice with a horse that brought the logs to a saw mill. Their brother Otto set up in a field, where the logs were sawed into the lumber and then was hauled to Klingbeil in Medford so that it got planed and was hauled home to build the new barn on the family farm in 1936. Also as a young boy, he learned from his father, the blacksmith, how to make runners for sleighs and other things along with his 5 brothers. Besides working on the family farm he also drove a dump truck to haul gravel and later worked with his brothers hauling line poles to build the REC Electric in Clark, Taylor and Marathon Counties. Wilmer also worked in the logging camps and hauled logs for a couple of years. He later worked on US Highway 2 hauling loads of gravel for cement to connect Minnesota and Wisconsin at Hurley and Ironwood, Michigan. After their marriage, Wilmer also started logging and peeling pulpwood. After his 2 brothers were drafted into service for World War II he and his brother, Art were partners on the family farm for several years. He enjoyed carving wood, was an avid hunter, fisherman and trapper.

MARRIAGE INFORMATION: June 20, 1936 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Medford to Carl E. Noland, they were married for 62 years and raised 11 children. He preceded her in death on August 22, 1998.
PRINCIPAL EVENTS IN LIFE: Marcella started taking sewing lessons in 1931 in Medford from Mrs. Malchow, a friend of her mothers. She became a talented seamstress, sewing her own wedding dress and the bridesmaid dresses for her wedding. Immediately following their marriage, they lived in the City of Medford until 1946, when they then purchased the farm Carl had worked on as a hired hand as a teenager in the Town of Browning. In 1981, they moved off the farm to their log home that they built, and Marcella lived there until the time of her death. Marcella was a great cook and loved to bake. Homemade bread, pies and cookies, especially her decorated cutout Christmas cookies were her specialty, and her family’s favorite, butterscotch pudding dessert. No gathering was complete without it. She loved to garden raising most of the family’s produce in their own garden where she would then can and freeze it. She gardened until the age of 92. Marcella will be missed for her gentle smiles, her compassion and kindness she showed to everyone, love of family, and her unending faith.

4 Daughters: Esther (Peter) Henrichs, Sharon (James) Frischmann and Sandy (Don) Erl all of Medford and Margaret “Maggie” (David) Dahl of North Mankato, Minnesota
CHILDREN DECEASED: Grandson: Daniel Erl in 2000; 2 Great-Grandchildren: Amanda Anderson in 1982 and Lucas Henrichs in 1996.
