PRINCIPAL EVENTS IN LIFE: The family moved to Wisconsin in April 1935 and lived on a farm east of Medford. Anita worked for William F. Hoppe Accountant and then in the office at the Medford Coop Creamery. After their marriage she was a homemaker. Anita also started in June of 1969 for Schmidt the Clothes Man Inc., where she worked as a seamstress for 32 years. She liked to sew, bake, crochet, travel and spend time with her family.

She enjoyed skydiving in her younger years. She loved gardening, her flower beds, crocheting, family picnics, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

ROGER "ROG" E. NICKS
Roger “Rog” E. Nicks, age 66, of Withee, Town of Hammel, Medford area resident, passed away on Monday, July 9th at the Aspirus Wausau Hospital, where he had been a patient for the past 3 weeks, surrounded by his loving family. He passed away after a 5 year long very courageous battle with cancer.
Roger was born on February 23, 1946, on the family farm in Clark County, WI to the late Walter E. Sr. and Elenora L. (Maiden Name: Burtard) Nicks. He graduated from Dorchester-Abbotsford High School and eventually took over the family farm in Dorchester. He married his High School sweetheart, Donna M. Krause on June 27, 1964 and they have three sons, Brian, Terry and Michael.
Roger drove truck for Farmers Union Coop Transport in Stetsonville, for a number of years and then managed the company until purchasing his business, Nicks’ Truck Repair and Sales in 1985. Roger had many interests and passions, none more than his family and friends. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, farming, antique tractors, auctions, breakfast social group at The Diner, and is remembered for his story telling and making people smile.
Survivors include his wife, Donna of Withee. 3 Sons: Brian (Steph) of Withee, Terry (Bonnie) of Fall Creek and Mike (Susie) of Medford. Nine Grandchildren: Megan, Jessica, Kyle, Kasee, Brady, Cassandra, Alex, Riley and Tori Nicks. Brother: Walter (Lois) Nicks Jr. of Spring Valley, AZ. Mother-In-Law: Marjorie (Maiden Name: Ramminger) Krause of Dorchester. Also survived by Many Nephews, Nieces, Cousins, Other Relatives and Friends. HILBERT "HIB" F. FREY
Hilbert “Hib” F. Frey
MEDFORD – Lifelong Medford area resident, Hilbert “Hib” Frey, aged 97, entered eternal life on Thursday, July 5th surrounded by his loving children and Hope Hospice.
Hilbert was born on January 11, 1915 in the town of Browning to John and Alma (Schoenfeldt) Frey. He attended the Frey School, and worked for about 45 years at the Medford Cooperative Creamery / Morning Glory Dairy in can-intake, butter making, field man, and lab technician. Hilbert also operated an apartment building and for many summers painted houses with Walt Lange.
On December 9th, 1939, he married Alda Marie Clausnitzer at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Medford. Alda, his spouse of 62 years, preceded him in death on January 17, 2002. With Alda, Hilbert was accomplished square dancer and worldwide traveler. He liked hard work and found time to be an avid gardener and a lifelong bowler who also enjoyed Brewer baseball, fishing, and playing Sheepshead. Hilbert was an active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and served on many church and school committees. Hib was a gentle man with a generous spirit and a quick smile, and will be greatly missed as he was a pillar of strength and esteemed model for his children and grandchildren.
Surviving are their six children, Marlene (Ron) Bremer of Medford, Marvin (Dorothy) of Stevens Point, Mark (Patricia) of Colby, Mike (Gloria) of Marietta, GA, Marshall (Anne) of Waunakee, Marvel (Tim) Bakri of Oshkosh, and 15 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandson.
Also surviving are two sisters, Elenora (Herb) Brandner and Viola Clausnitzer both of Medford. Other surviving brothers and sisters-in-law include Marcella Frey, Alfred “Budsy” and Donna Clausnitzer, Jane Clausnitzer, and Bob and Doris Tacke, all of Medford.
Besides his parents and wife, Hilbert was preceded in death by brothers Oscar, John and Ralph Frey, and brothers and sisters-in-law Mabel Frey, Ruth Frey, Stub “Robert” Clausnitzer, Dave Clausnitzer, Otto and Tillie Clausnitzer, Orme and Leona Murray.
Visitation will be held at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Medford on Monday, July 9th beginning at 9 AM with the service to follow at 11 AM with Pastor Joshua Krieger officiating, with burial to follow in Evergreen Cemetery II in Medford. Pallbearers: Grandchildren: Krystle Frey, Mitchell Frey, Sue Bremer, Korey Frey, Ken Frey and Mike Peavey
The family would especially like to thank Country Gardens for their supportive and compassionate care over the past four years, and Memorial Hospital Nursing Home for care during his brief stay there.

PRINCIPAL EVENTS IN LIFE: When Jeannette was 1 year old her family moved to Milwaukee. In 1935 the family moved to the Medford area where they owned and operated a family dairy farm. After Bernard and Jeannette were married they moved to Illinois during WWII and in 1948 they moved to the Rib Lake area where they owned and operated a dairy farm. During this time Jeanette worked at Gem Products Shoe Factory, Rib Lake and also in the laundry department at the Rib Lake Nursing Home, Rib Lake. They then moved to Spirit Lake in 1972. She enjoyed fishing, cooking, traveling, vegetable and flower gardening. She also enjoyed reading and in her later years when she could no longer see the print, she would listen to books on cassette. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family.
