After his service, he worked at the family farm and Hurds in Medford for a period of time before going to work for Bach Electric in Medford. John then worked for Jarp Industries in Schofield and then Ram Rod Industries in Marshfield before finally working at McClean Anderson in Schofield as an electrician until his retirement in 2010.

BETTY L. SCHNEIDER
Betty Lou Schneider, 87, passed away Monday May 30, 2016 at Aspirus Care and Rehab in Medford.
Betty was born June 8, 1928 in Spirit, Wisconsin to George and Sadie (Salvesen) Meier. She attended Liberty Grade School in Spirit. She married Walter J. Schneider on February 8, 1947 in Rib Lake, Wisconsin. Walter preceded her in death on July 3, 1996.
Betty is survived by her children Sharyn (Robert) Thompson of Medford, Michael Schneider of Bruce, LuAnn (David) Heidmann of Wausau, Daniel (Sheila) Schneider of Rib Lake, Matthew Schneider of Rib Lake. Grandchildren Tara (Brad) Carstensen, Tim (Laura) Thompson, Jason (Angela) Schneider, Michael (Nicole) Schneider, JR., Cassandra Schneider, Liberty Heidmann, Ryan Heidmann, Derrick Schneider, Dustin Schneider, Dilan Schneider, Sister Gardia Arredondo of Milwaukee.
Betty is also preceded in death by her Parents, and siblings Dorothy Vlach, Ardis Koepsel, Norma Miller, Bunetta Drew, Lora Thums, Glen, George, Owen and Jack Meier.
Following her education, Betty moved to Milwaukee where she watched over four children as a mother’s helper. She then moved back to Spirit where she met Walter shortly after his return from World War II. Betty and Walter owned a dairy farm in Rib Lake, and worked on the farm until 2006. Betty enjoyed to travel with friends. She traveled to Switzerland with friends and family, and also throughout the United States. She enjoyed the outdoors farming and gardening. She cherished her time with family, especially her grandchildren.
Betty was of the Catholic faith, and was a member at Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Rib Lake.
Funeral Services for Betty will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday June 3, 2016 at Hemer Funeral Home, Rib Lake Chapel. Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM until the time of service, at the funeral home. Pastor Michael Meier will officiate. Burial will follow in Lakeview Cemetery.

WALTER "BUTCH" L. LINDAHL
Walter Loyd “Butch” Lindahl, 92, of Medford, passed away Sunday May 22, 2016 at Aspirus Care and Rehab.
Butch was born in High Bridge, WI, April 8, 1924 to Ernest and Pauline (Seaquist) Lindahl. He married Shirley H. Kleist at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Stetsonville on October 19, 1946. She survives.
Butch is also survived by his children; Beverly (Dale) Schroeder of Stevens Point, and Steven (Gloria) Lindahl of Medford. Grandchildren Troy (Kiersten) Schroeder, Eric Lindahl, Adam (Mindy) Lindahl, Darcy (Jeremy) Wall, Angela Lindahl, and Heather Lindahl. And 6 Great Grandchildren. He is further survived by Sister In Law Pauline Lindahl of Washington State and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his Parents, Son Lloyd Lindahl, and Brothers Virgil and Eugene Lindahl, and infant brother Lloyd Lindahl.
Butch served his country in the US Army Medic Corps from 1943 – 1946. He then drove truck for Ben Reusch in Minong, WI and also was employed by Niemuth Implement Company in Stetsonville. In 1951 Butch began long-distance truck for Neuendorf Trucking, driving to Chicago. In 1981, Butch retired from trucking and then worked Part time selling cars for Mertens Garage. He was a charter member of the Stetsonville American Legion Post 519, Medford VFW Post 5729, past member of the Thursday Night Mens golf league, 710 Teamsters Union in Chicago and served as President of the Church Council of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Stetsonville for six years.
Funeral Services for Butch Lindahl will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday May 25, 2016 at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Stetsonville. Rev. James H. Babler will officiate. Burial will take place in Medford Evergreen Cemetery II. His Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. Military Rites will be presented by the Stetsonville American Legion Post 519. Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at Hemer Funeral Home, Medford Chapel, on Tuesday May 24, 2016 and also at Zion Ev. Lutheran Church on Wednesday May 25, 2016 from 10:00 – 10:45.

Lorraine Anne Killion, 96, former Fergus Falls, MN resident, passed away Friday May 20, 2016 at Aspirus Care and Rehab, Medford where she had been a resident for the last 2 years.
Lorraine was born April 8, 1920 in Minneapolis, MN to Albert and Alice (Thor) Dongoske. Following her high school career she then went on to McPhale School of Music. She married Loren H. Killion on October 2, 1943 in Minneapolis. He preceded her in death on September 22, 1995.
She is survived by her children; Ann (Robert) Rusch of Rib Lake, WI, Barbara (William) Weber of Fargo, ND, Frederick (Karen) Killion of Florence, AZ, eight Grandchildren, nine Great Grandchildren, three Nephews and one niece.
Lorraine is also preceded in death by her parents, Sister Jane Carlson, Brother in Law Roger Carlson, and several aunts and uncles.
Lorraine worked for Ottertail Power Company as a secretary. She had a passion for music that remained with her throughout her life. She held the position of Organist and Choir director for several churches in Tennessee, Minneapolis, Detroit, Fargo and Fergus Falls. She deeply loved her family, and enjoyed visiting her grandchildren throughout the country. Lorraine was an excellent fisherwoman. She loved to take casino trips with friends, playing Bridge, and entertaining nursing home residents by playing the piano. Lorraine will be remembered by her many talents, especially her love for orchestrating events.
She was a member of First Lutheran Church in Westboro, and The Hospital Bridge Marathon.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM, Thursday May 26, 2016 at First Lutheran Church in Westboro, Pastor Linda Strader will officiate. Visitation will be held at First Lutheran Church beginning at 10:00 until the time of services at 11:00. Cremation rites have been accorded, burial will take place at a later date at Ft. Snelling in Minneapolis.

ROY B. CLARKSON
Roy Byron Clarkson,90, a town of Hammel resident, passed away Wednesday May 4, 2016 at Aspirus Medford Hospital in Medford.
Roy was born July 6, 1925 in Medford the late Clarence “Dick” and Minnie Clarkson. He attended the Sawyer Dam School, in the town of Grover.
On September 1, 1945 he married Elsie Nadler at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Medford. They spent 70 years of marriage together. Elsie survives.
Roy is also survived by his daughter Darlene (Kent) Staab of Medford, Step Grandchildren; Marshall Staab, Travis (Jennifer) Staab, Nicole (Matt) Cassis, Step Great Grandchildren Jacob and Paul Cassis, Brother Don (Evelyn) Clarkson of Medford, Sister in Law Ardis Clarkson of Stetsonville, and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his Parents, Sister in Law Dorothy Clarkson, Brothers Ervin and Lester.
Roy took up welding in Merrill, then worked for the Medford Highway Department for seven years. He then started to work for Hurds Millwork for 35 years, retiring from there in 1990. He enjoyed making firewood, fishing, hunting, woodworking, and gardening. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Medford.
A memorial service will be held at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church on Saturday May 7, 2016 at 11:00 AM. Rev. Brian Mundt will officiate. Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM until the time of services at 11:00 AM. A private committal service will take place at Medford Evergreen cemetery at a later date.

Constance Goodman Stack, 83, of Baraboo, Wi. passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 28, 2016, at Golden Living Center in Wisconsin Dells.
She was born on July 8, 1932, in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of John and Estelle Goodman of Medford. On Dec.21, 1954, she was married to Eugene Stack of Baltimore, Maryland at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Stetsonville. Eugene and Connie met in the state of Maine where both were youth camp counselors while in college.
After graduating from Medford High School in 1950, Connie graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a major in physical education and was later employed as a recreation director. She loved to stay active and played and coached tennis and volleyball. She enjoyed reading novels and caring for her plants. Connie’s faith was most important to her and became stronger as time went on. She was an active member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and school in Baraboo. She also served on the Baraboo Parks and Recreation Board for a number of years. She loved her family with a fond love for her 9 grandchildren.
Survivors include her four children, Eugene (Susan) Stack Jr., of Delavan, Patrick (Laura) Stack, of Baraboo, Laura (Tim) Stack-Gorman, of Minneapolis, Minnesota and Kevin (Jamie) Stack, of Sun Prairie; sister, Judi (Mark) Seidl, of Wausau; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren, as well as her sister-in-law Donna Goodman, of Medford, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Eugene Stack; and her brother, Jack Goodman.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 9, 2016, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Medford. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Burial will follow the service at Holy Rosary Cemetery in Medford.

PRINCIPLE EVENTS IN LIFE: When their oldest child was two, they moved to Beloit, Wisconsin where they resided until 1992 when they moved back to the Stetsonville area. Judith loved spending time with her loving husband, her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her favorite singer was Elvis Presley. Judith loved to cook for her family and was always trying a new recipe, which they didn’t mind at all; and she liked to go fishing.
