EDWIN "SQUEAK" E. MOTTE


Edwin “Squeak” E. Motte, 62, of Medford, passed away on Saturday, June 30, 2018 at the Marshfield Medical Center. He was born on March 1, 1956 to Erick and Abbie (Downing) Motte in Medford. He attended Medford schools.

Squeak worked with his father as a logger for the Motte Pulp Company. He went on to work for Adams County Power Line.

In his spare time he enjoyed fishing and playing cards.

Squeak is survived by his sisters, Linda (Dennis Post) Bucki of Marshfield, Karen (Larry) Gyorkos of Stetsonville, and Ericka Bertsinger of Gilman and step-father, Wayne Paur of Medford. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, and many other family and friends.

Squeak is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Sandra Motte.

A memorial visitation will take place on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at Hemer Funeral Home – Medford Chapel from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM.

James A. Moen, 56, of Medford, passed away at his residence on Saturday June 23, 2018.

He is survived by his children: Chad (Autumn) Sapinski of Marathon, Lori Jo (Joe) Kraemer of Medford, Dustin Moen of Oneida, 6 Grandchildren, and further survived by siblings, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Cremation rites have been accorded and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.

ROSE C. ENGEL


Rose C. Engel, 91, passed away peacefully on Saturday June 23, 2018 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Rose was born June 24, 1926 in Gilman, WI to Joseph and Cecilia (Fitzpatrick) Noonan. She is a graduate of Gilman High School. On September 11, 1948 she married Russell L. Engel. Russell preceded her in death on February 23, 2015.
She is survived by her Children: Randy (Lori) Engel of Pueblo, CO, Rita (Rick) Kuehn of Champlin, MN, Ruth Engel of Colorado City, CO, Roxann (Mark) Dunst of Gleason, WI, Roger Engel of Greenwood, WI, Robin Engel Ashe of Medford, 10 Grandchildren, 14 Great Grandchildren and 3 Great Great Grandchildren.
She is further preceded in death by her Parents, 2 brothers and 4 sisters.
Following high school Rose attended Normal School and then went on to earn her Bachelor’s degree from UW Stevens Point. She then taught grades 2-4 at Rib Lake Elementary School. She retired in 1981 and then traveled with her Husband Russell to all 50 states, and was very proud to have accomplished that. When she was 64 years old, she began substitute teaching until she was 81.
She loved  crafts, embroidering, gardening, reading, completing puzzles and playing different card games. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. Rose loved her family and will be remembered for her strong, funny, fashionable and compassionate look on life.
Cremation rites have been accorded, and a memorial service will take place at 11:00 on Tuesday July 3, 2018 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Medford. Rev. Daniel Iwinski Burial will follow at Medford Evergreen Cemetery II. Visitation will be held that morning at the church from 9:30 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM.
Memorial donations in honor of Rose can be given to her family, with designation at a later date.

In October of 2017, they moved to the Town of Medford. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, golf, reading, yard work, bird watching and spending time with his grandchildren.

JACQUELINE "JACQIE" J. JABLONOWSKI

Jacqueline “Jacqie” J. Jablonowski, 63, of Rib Lake, passed away on Friday, June 22, 2018 surrounded by her family in her dream home. She was born in Oakland, CA to Raymond and Gloria (Bednarski) Petri on July 2, 1954. She is survived by her husband, Gerald Jablonowski, whom she married on September 6, 1985. She worked at Northwestern Mutual until her retirement.

In her spare time Jacqie enjoyed Yahtzee, cribbage, being out in nature, reading, volunteering in the Rib Lake area, traveling, knitting, and fishing.

In addition to her husband, Jacqie is survived by her children, Brian Jablonowski of Rib Lake, Gregg Jablonowski of Pell Lake, Dawn (James) Shepherd of Muskego, Nikki (Wes) Decker of Port Washington, Chris (Jenny) Machlan of Muskego, and Jeffrey (Jaclyn) Jablonowski of Colorado Springs, CO; grandchildren, Josh, Conor, Oliver, Tyler, Gavin, Gianna, Sarah, Aiden, and Kaiya. She is further survived by her mother, Gloria and brothers, Bill and Keith Petri.

Jacqie is preceded in death by her father, Raymond.

A memorial service for Jacqie will take place at 2:00 PM on Wednesday June, 27, 2018 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Rib Lake, with Rev. Kenneth Bittorf officiating. Visitation will take place on Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church from 12:00 PM until the time of service at 2:00 PM.

In retirement, he worked part-time at the Farmacy. He enjoyed golf, gardening, bowling & playing cribbage.

NORMAN H. VANDERHOOF


Norman Harold Vanderhoof, 91, of Ogema, passed away on June 20, 2018 at his home, surrounded by his family and under the care of Hope Hospice and Palliative Care.
Norman was born February 28, 1927 in Chili, Wisconsin to Harold and Gertrude (Stoneberg) Vanderhoof. He married Elaine Lundberg on December 28, 1949. Elaine preceded him in death in 2007.
He is survived by his Children: John Vanderhoof of Ogema, Joyce (Richard) Hildebrand of Iowa, Louise Lukes of Ogema, Larry (Roni) Vanderhoof of Prentice, Susan (Dennis) Ochodnicky, of Ogema, Nancy (Frank) Lukes of Ogema, fourteen Grandchildren, twenty eight Great Grandchildren and one Great Great Grandchild, and Siblings: Grace Payne of Florida, Myrtle Payne of Sheboygan, Ruby Berkholz of Ogema, Delores Eisner of Rib Lake, Yvonne Presswood of Illinois.
He is preceded in death by his Parents, Wife Elaine, daughter Lynn Moriarty, and two Grandsons.
Norman served in World War II, from April 1945 to November 1946 and attended the Honor Flight in 2017. Norman was a very talented carpenter, building many houses in the surrounding counties. He enjoyed outdoor activities, travel, and visiting with his family.  He also loved working in his workshop after retirement.
A Celebration of Life followed by lunch at the Spirit Baptist Church, will be held on Saturday, June 23, at 1:30. Pastor Duane Harper will officiate. A Graveside service will take place at Garden of Memory Cemetery where military honors will be held.

JANET H. LIVIGNI

Janet H. LiVigni, 73, of Rib Lake passed away on Sunday, June 10, 2018 at her residence. She was born in Blue Island, IL on November 11, 1944 to Forest and Janet (Kliefoth) Kurtzweil. She graduated from Oak Lawn Community High School. She married Steven LiVigni on August 10, 1968, he survives.

Janet worked in the steel industry. She was a hard worker and strong woman with a great sense of humor. She will be deeply missed by all.

In addition to her husband Janet is survived by her son, Joseph (Kelly) LiVigni; grandchildren, Rebecca, Jessica, and Joseph “Fitzy”. She is also survived by her sister, Peggy Machnikowski of Ogema and brother, Thomas Kurtzweil of Maricopa, AZ. Janet is further survived by many nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.

Janet is preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Forest and Quentin Kurtzweil; sister in law, Merilyn Kurtzweil and brother in law, Julius Machnikowski.

WILLIAM "BILL" J. JUNEAU

William “Bill” J. Juneau, 49, of Gilman, passed away on June 4, 2018. He was born to Sharon Pound on July 4, 1968. He graduated from Medford High School in 1986. Bill was an accomplished contractor and carpenter. He was the owner and operator of All Star Siding for 25 years. He started his business in Madison. He then relocated to Colorado of a period of time before moving back to the Medford area and was finally at peace being where his roots are at Miller Dam.

In his spare time he enjoyed fishing, baseball, riding his motorcycle, grilling out, and spending time with his family and friends.
Bill is survived by his son, Wyatt (Rochelle Fletcher) Juneau and their children; sister, Michelle (Blake) Bucki. He is also survived by his uncle Larry “Buzz” Usack; nephews, Logan Bucki and Christopher and Michael (Victoria Krzykowski) Retterath; nieces, Lindsey and Lilian Bucki and Sage Retterath. Bill is further survived by other friends and family.
Bill is preceded in death by his mother, Sharon, a sister, Laurie Retterath, grandparents Bob and Ruby Usack, aunt, LoveLea Usack, and friend, Sandy Lemmer.

AURE A. "RAY" LIEBL



Aure A. “Ray” Liebl, 88, of Rib Lake, passed away Saturday May 26, 2018 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.

He was the beloved partner of Catherine Kriehn and ex Husband Karen Liebl (O’Keane). He was a wonderful Father to Suzanne (Perry) Boneck, Tamara (Jeff) Jackopin and Karen (Kari) Liebl, loving Grandfather of Matthew (Krystle) Jackopin, Shannon (Kyle) Trimble, Ryan (Leah) Boneck, Jeffery Jackopin and Erin Boneck. Proud Great-Grandfather of Kylie Jackopin, Sebastian Jackopin, Haylee Jackopin, Connor Trimble and Lauren Trimble, and one brother Leo Liebl.
He is preceded in death by his Parents William and Theresa Liebl and sister Lila Liebl Kalin.

Ray was an honored Korean veteran, Sergeant in the US Army, and traveled in the special service Road Show Tour in 1951-1952 as a backup musician for Bob Hope. He was a proud member of the American Legion. Through his lifetime Ray graduated from the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music. A musician, composer, orchestra and band leader that went on to form many bands including Ray Liebl and the Sophisticates. Ray was an accomplished entrepreneur owning several businesses and music stores including the current Rib Lake Music Center for over 25 years. He was an exceptional carpenter and a True Artist. His one true passion in life was teaching students the love of music.

Cremation rites have been accorded, and a memorial service will take place a 4:00 PM, Monday June 11, 2018 at Hemer Funeral Home, Rib Lake Chapel. Father Dennis Meulemans will officiate. Burial and military honors will follow at Lakeview Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

EDNA A. MARKOW

Edna A. Markow, 98, of Medford, passed away on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at her daughter’s house. She was born on February 10, 1920 to Fredrick and Annelise (Ruebsamen) Nickle in Kenosha. She later moved to Rib Lake and attended Fawn Valley School. She worked at various locations in the area as a housekeeper and nanny. Edna married Kenneth Markow on February 2, 1937 in Rib Lake; he preceded her in death on January 22, 2004.

Edna worked most of her life as a homemaker and as a babysitter for her family and neighbors. She was very active member of Community United Church of Christ and Chelsea Conservation Club Women’s Group. Edna took great pride in her lawn and was even awarded the best lawn in town.  In her spare time she enjoyed cooking and baking, sewing, reading, traveling, arts and craft, embroidery, and caring for her pets.

Edna is survived by her five sons, Ronald of Stafford, OR., David (Peggy) of Eau Claire, LeRoy and Wayne (Sue), both of Medford, and Larry (Wendy) of Janesville; two daughters, Lynette (Ralph) Marthaler of Medford, and Marlys (Jeff) Shoup of Gainesville, Va.; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.  Edna is also survived by her daughter in law, Nina Markow; brother, Gilbert Hein and sister, Dorothy Kay. She is further survived by many other family and friends.

In addition to her husband and parents Edna is preceded in death by her son Loren Markow, 7 sisters, and 1 brother.

Funeral services for Edna will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at Community United Church of Christ with Pastor Mary Jo Laabs officiating; burial will follow at Medford Evergreen Cemetery II. Visitation will take place on Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at Community United Church of Christ from 9:00 AM until the time of services at 11:00 AM.
