DATE & PLACE OF BIRTH: Born on the family farm on July 20, 1917 in Maiden Rock, WI Pierce County
EDUCATION: Graduated from Plum City High School in 1935, Graduated from River Falls State College in 1940 where he received his BS in Science and Agriculture, After returning from military service he attended the University of WI Madison obtaining a masters degree in Microbiology in 1946.
MARRIAGE INFORMATION: April 23, 1949 in Medford to Alice A. Oberhofer and she preceded in death on November 20, 1999
PRINCIPAL EVENTS IN LIFE: He enlisted in the Army Signal Corps in 1941 prior to the outbreak of hostilities and was honorably discharged in 1945 at the rank of sergeant. He moved to Medford in 1946 and was a Chemist for the Medford Cooperative Creamery, which later became Consolidated Badger. From 1968-1982 he was plant manager at Foremost McKesson and from 1982-1985 he was plant manager at Dairy Monitoring of America. In 1985 John was a Plant Manager at Maple Island until his retirement on September 1, 1987. John was an avid reader with a special interest in American History and Political Science.
MEMBER OF: Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Medford; Third Degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council 1744 from 1949 until his death; Served as Financial Secretary from 1958 to 1997; Member of Holy Rosary Church Choir 1947-1990.
