DATE & PLACE OF BIRTH: July 4, 1924 in the Township of Browning

EDUCATION: Attended Stetsonville Grade School

MARRIAGE: July 30, 1946 at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Stetsonville to Sylvia A. Baumer and she preceded him in death on February 19, 2012

PRINCIPAL EVENTS IN LIFE: In 1950, Melvin and Sylvia bought their own farm by Dorchester, where they dairy farmed, raised mink for a few years and enjoyed a large garden. Over the years, Melvin drove semi-trucks, gravel trucks, cattle trucks, tractors (Big & Small) and other large equipment until ill health forced his retirement in 2005. After retirement he helped his sons with their field work. He enjoyed playing cards, going to the casino, ice fishing, reading the paper, watching television and getting together with family. Melvin enjoyed going for Sunday rides and to take trips with Sylvia. His favorite was driving through Yellowstone and the beautiful scenery. He also liked visiting relatives in other states.

SURVIVING CHILDREN: 2 Daughters: Karen (Dennis) Resech of Stetsonville and Sandy (Ray) Wehe of Stetsonville
4 Sons: Gary (Elaine) Blasel of Dorchester, Jeffery (Fiance Robin) Blasel of Blinker and twins Larry (Marlene) Blasel of Dorchester and Lee (Paula) Blasel of Dorchester

GRANDCHILDREN DECEASED: Perry Blasel in 2001and Donna Rene Light in 1970

LIVING GRANDCHILDREN: 17 GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN: 40 GREAT-GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN: 4

SURVIVING BROTHERS/SISTER: Norman (Delores) Blasel of Stetsonville, Harry Blasel of Rib Lake and Arlis Lageman of Whittlesey
