PLACE, DATE & TIME OF DEATH: 6:45 AM Wednesday, November 18 at Aspirus Hospice House, Wausau where he had resided for the past 5 days following a courageous 6 year battle with cancer that was a result of exposure to Agent Orange during his military service in Vietnam.
TIME & PLACE OF SERVICES: 11:00 AM Tuesday, November 24 at Hemer Funeral Home, Medford where there will also be military rites performed by the Medford Area Military Honors Team

INTERMENT: Interment of his cremated remains will take place at Central Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery, King, WI on Wednesday, November 25
VISITATION: 5-7 PM on Monday, November 23 at Hemer Funeral Home, Medford and also from 10 AM until the time of services at 11 AM on Tuesday, November 24
DATE & PLACE OF BIRTH: December 18, 1947 at the Township of Taft, Taylor County
EDUCATION: Medford elementary schools and was a 1966 graduate of Medford High School. Following his service in Vietnam, he earned an Associate’s Degree in diesel mechanics from Northeast Technical College in Sturgeon Bay, WI. In 1994 he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in mathematics from UW-Stevens Point and later completed his Masters of Education in secondary education from Viterbo University in La Crosse.
MARRIAGE: June 20, 1970 at Zion Ev. Lutheran Church, Stetsonville to Jayne E. Boxrucker and she survives
PRINCIPLE EVENTS IN LIFE: He was a US Army veteran of the Vietnam War. After the service, he drove truck and worked as a diesel mechanic for Tombstone Pizza Corp. for periods of time. After he finished his education, he taught school at the Medford Area Middle School and Medford Area High School until June of 2010 when ill health forced his retirement. He enjoyed traveling out West, hunting, camping, spending time with his grandchildren and anything outdoors.
