Mildred A. Erl, 94, Medford died on February 6, 2017 at Aspirus Care & Rehab, Medford where she had resided for the past 10 years. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Monday, February 13 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Medford with Father Phil Juza officiating.
Burial will be held in the Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery, Medford. Pallbearers will be Tom Rehbein, Chris Wall, Mike Wall, Don Erl, Steve Ackeret and Jack Viergutz.
Visitation will be held from 2-4 PM on Sunday, February 12 at Hemer Funeral Home, Medford and from 10 AM until the time of services at 11 AM on Monday, February 13 at the church.
Mildred A. Erl was born April 14, 1922 in Medford to Ferdinand and Hilda (Borman) Viergutz. She attended Holy Rosary Catholic School and was a graduate of Medford High School. Her marriage to Edward J. Erl took place on September 4th, 1943 in Medford & he preceded her in death on February 7th, 1998.
Prior to her marriage, she worked at the Medford Pea Cannery and Kostner’s Grocery store. After their marriage, she worked as a homemaker & mother while residing in the Township of Medford. She enjoyed growing flowers, taking part in TV cook-offs, entering radio contests, fishing, visiting family and friends.
She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Medford & it’s Ladies Rosary Society, the Chelsea Conversation Club and its Ladies Group.
Survivors include one daughter, Nancy (Richard) Rehbein of Menasha, WI; a son Lee (Pauline Moulton) Erl of Holcombe, WI; one sister, Marge Hein of Ripon Wi; one brother, Richard “Slats” (Shirley) Viergutz of Medford. Grandsons, Christopher (Lisa) Wall of Sanford, MI, Michael (Angie) Wall of Chicago, IL and Tom Rehbein of Menasha, WI. Four great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother-Harvey Viergutz, daughter-Pat (Erl) Wall, son-in-law: Lee Wall, daughter-in-law: Laura (Kimble) Erl & granddaughter-Emily Jean Erl.
