ALVIN J. RAMM



Alvin “Al” J. Ramm, of Medford, passed away Friday June 30, 2017 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
Al was born July 18, 1947 in Medford to Clarence and Jesse (Porter) Ramm. He is a graduate of Medford Sr. High School. He married Marie Ellen Baumann of August 8, 1970 at Zion Lutheran Church in Stetsonville.

He is survived by his Wife Marie, Children: Steve Ramm of Medford, and Laura Ramm of Milwaukee, Grandchildren Dylan and Trevor Ramm of DePere, Siblings: Jerry, Jean Don, Lola, Ray Ramm, and Lucy Hanish, all of Medford, Sister in Law Becky Ramm, and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his Parents, Siblings: Joan Koeffer and David Ramm.

After high school, Al joined the United States Marine Corps and was an electrician on the A-6 and F-4 Aircraft. He served two tours in Vietnam, and also one year in Japan. Al also served as an electrical instructor on the aircraft. He earned the rank of Staff Sergeant and was honorably discharged in 1974.
Al returned to Medford and drove milk truck, worked for Radio Shack, and also worked in the maintenance departments at Hurd and Weather Shield Window Companies. He retired in 2010.

Al was a member of VFW Post 5729 in Medford, and was a longtime member at Zion Ev. Lutheran Church.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday July 5, 2017 at Zion Ev. Lutheran Church in Stetsonville. Rev. Richard Russow will officiate. Burial will follow at the Zion Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Zion Lutheran Church from 9:30 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM. Military honors will be rendered by the Medford Area Military Rites Team.

In lieu of flowers, per Al’s request, memorial donations may be given to his family, which will then be given to homeless veterans.

ARDELLA M. DOHRWARDT


Ardella M. Dohrwardt, 73, of Medford, passed away Friday June 23, 2017 at Aspirus Care and Rehab in Medford. She was born on September 2, 1943 to Henry and Bertha (Barkow) Dassow, they precede her in death. She married Herman C. Dohrwardt, Jr. at Trinity Lutheran Church on October 5, 1963. Herman precedes her in death.
Ardella worked most of her life as a homemaker. In her spare time she enjoyed shooting pool, going to the casino, and playing cards and bingo.
She is survived by Children: Ricky (Nancy) Dohrwardt of Rib Lake, Randy (Katrina) Dohrwardt of Medford, Ryan (Bobbie) Dohrwardt of Pulaski, Renee (David) Jacobsen of Medford and Rod (Muzzy) Dohrwardt of Medford, Grandchildren: Mikey, Taran, Brett, Wyatt, Amanda and Zach Dohrwardt, and Nicole Jacobsen. She is also survived by her siblings, Harold (Mary Ann) Dassow Sr., Arnold Dassow, Darlene Drager all of Medford and sister-in-law Janice Dassow of Medford
In addition to her parents and husband, Ardella is preceded in death by her siblings, Ralph, Donald, Hilbert Sr., Henry, Clarence, Robert and Alvin Sr. Dassow, and Elaine Gumz.

NORMA E. GAAB-MOLITOR

Norma E. Gaab-Molitor, 87, of Medford, passed away peacefully Tuesday, June 20th at Aspirus Care and Rehab in Medford, WI.
Norma was born in Medford, WI on June 18, 1930 to Henry and Catherine (Stauner) Brost. She married James J. Gaab on June 15th, 1949 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Medford and they celebrated 56 years of marriage before his passing in 2007.
Norma and family moved to Wausau, WI in 1956, where she was a bookkeeper for her husband at Mobil Oil Co. She also worked part time as a telephone secretary and printers assistant for the Business Service Center and part time at Dr. George Andrews medical office.
In 1984, she founded the consignment store Nice As New. She spent her winters in Sun City, AZ where she was employed at Sun City Youngtown Printers and Valley Medical Answering Service. She moved back to Wausau full time in 1998 where she continued to work as a telephone secretary for Presto Call until her retirement in 2007.
Norma was a fervent reader and enjoyed writing short stories for her family, remodeling their houses and traveling the USA and Europe. Norma was very active at the church, school and community organizations. She was a long-term poll worker and volunteer at Wausau Hospital and a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Medford. She enjoyed every type of animal, especially her cats and Bob’s dog, Tiffi.
Norma moved to Medford, WI in 2008 where she married her childhood friend Robert “Bob” Molitor in June of 2008 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Medford.
She is survived by her husband Robert “Bob” Molitor of Medford; Children: Mary Gaab of Wausau and Daniel (Lori) Gaab of Galena, IL; Grandchildren: Michael Hoffman, Mike and Dan Fuller, Nick, Tiffany, Brad and Kendra Gaab; Several Great-grandchildren; Brothers: Barney Brost of Denver, CO and S. Ray (Meta) Brost of Clarksville, IL; Sister: Marilyn (Arthur) Fliss of West Bend; Stepchildren: Mike and Micky Molitor both of Medford and 2 step-greatgrandchildren.
In addition to her first husband and parents Norma was preceded in death by her Children: Kathy Gaab Hoffman and Joseph Gaab; Daughter In-Law: Nellie Gaab; Sisters: Anita Gassen, Virginia Mary Brost and Lenore Palmer-Marks; Brother: JP Brost.
A funeral mass will be held at 12 noon, Monday June 26th, 2017 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church of Medford with Father Phil Juza and Deacon Joe Stefancin officiating. Visitation will be held at the church from 11 AM until the time of mass at 12 noon. Future burial of her cremated remains will be at the Cremation Garden of Rest, Pine Grove Cemetery in Wausau.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Norma’s name can be given to Holy Rosary Catholic Church and School, Medford or the Taylor County Humane Society, Medford.

DENNIS C. PETERSON


Dennis C. Peterson, 78, of Antigo, passed away Sunday June 18, 2017 at Aspirus Langlade Hospital Emergency Room.
Dennis was born June 21, 1938 in Medford, WI to Claude and Mildred (Wyss) Peterson. He was a graduate of Medford Sr. High School. Dennis married Betty Sue Peterson on November 26, 1979 in Menomonie, MI.
He is survived by his Wife, Children: Joe (Barb) Peterson of Mosinee, Denise (Dave) Haley of Georgia, Jeff Peterson of Antigo, John (Barbara) Peterson Seguin, TX, Steve (Ron) Farrar of Chicago, IL, Keith (Bonnie) Farrar of Mississippi, Brother Lee Peterson of DeForest, 11 Grandchildren, 4 Great Grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Dennis is preceded in death by his Parents, Son Paul Peterson, Brother Kent Peterson and Infant Sister Donna Peterson.
Dennis served his country with the U.S. Army Guard.
Dennis drove semi over the road, starting his career with his father under C.C. Peterson Trucking. He then went onto drive for Mortson Brothers Trucking, Mach Farms, Krieger Metal and last drove as an Owner / Operator for Packerland Trucking. He retired in 2010. Dennis was an avid sports fan and loved to watch football, baseball and golf. He enjoyed socializing over cocktails and traveling to the casino.
Cremation rites have been accorded, a graveside service and military honors will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday June 24, 2017 at Medford Evergreen Cemetery I in Medford.
Memorial donations in honor of Dennis can be given to his family, for designation at a later date.

Damien Mack Sweet, 2 months, of Medford passed away Saturday June 17, 2017 at his home.
Damien was born on April 10, 2017 in Marshfield, WI to Jesse Sweet and Susan Lemke.

JENNY ELAINE MAYER

Jenny Elaine Mayer, 94, of Westboro passed away on Thursday, June 8 at Care Partners in Medford, and under the care of Hope Hospice.
Jenny was born on July 30, 1922 to Angus and Jennie Peterson in Westboro, WI. She graduated from Westboro High School. She married Fred George Mayer on May 1, 1943. She worked on the family farm until the passing of her husband. She then went on to work for UW Madison, Chelsea School, and Weather Shield until retirement. In retirement she babysat her grandchildren and worked for the Forestry Service.
Jenny would spend her spare time sewing, making homemade quilts, cooking and feeding anyone that stopped in. She enjoyed tending to her flowers and lawn, and bird watching.
She was of the Catholic Faith, and was a former member of the Assumption of Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church of Chelsea.
Jenny is survived by her children Sharon Ennis of Madison, Kevin (Nancy) Mayer of Westboro; 10 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren; sisters: Dorothy Hoveland of Madison, Delores “Fenno” (Neil) Reimann of Westboro; brother: James (Mary Ann) Peterson of Medford; brother-in-law: Ray Dums of Hayward; son-in-law: Don Kellner of Schofield and many close family and friends.
Jenny is preceded in death by her Parents, Husband, and Children: Gary Mayer and Shirley Kellner; Siblings Arvid, Lester, Alden, Alvin “Bud” and John Peterson, Marie Betz, Kay Adams and Lael Dums.
A funeral mass will be held at 11 AM, Monday June 12, 2017 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Whittlesey. Father Phil Juza will officiate. Burial will follow at Mt. Olive Cemetery in Westboro. Visitation will be held at the church Monday morning from 9 AM until the time of Mass at 11 AM.
