Vera Corene Paulin, 96, of
Medford, passed away Saturday December 23, 2017 at Aspirus Care and Rehab,
Medford, under the care of Hope Hospice and Palliative Care.
Vera was born May
20, 1921 in Dows, Iowa to John and Alta (Root) LaRue. She completed the 8th Grade in Plain View, WI.
She married Edward C. Paulin, Sr., on July 2, 1941 in Pine City, MN. Edward
preceded her in death on July 2, 1989.
Vera is survived by her
Children: Charles “Chuck” (Karen) Paulin of Eau Claire, Linda (Joe) Karpinski
of Freemont, MI, and Deborah Paulin of Spencer, 7 Grandchildren, 12 Great
Grandchildren, 1 Great Great Grandchild.
She is further preceded in
death by her Parents, Son Ronald Paulin, and 8 brothers and sisters.
After Vera and Edward's
marriage they resided in Shell Lake and Waukesha for periods of time. They
moved to Medford in 1958 where they owned and operated the Ideal Café and Big
Dad’s Pad Arcade for 20 years until their retirement in 1979.
She enjoyed painting,
sewing, crafts, gardening, playing bingo and fishing. She was a member of
Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church, Medford.
A funeral service will be
held at 2:00 PM, Friday December 29, 2017, at Hemer Funeral Home, Medford
Chapel. Rev. Brian Mundt will officiate. Burial will be held at Shell Lake
Cemetery in Shell Lake, WI. Visitation will be held from 12:00 Noon until the
time of service at 2:00 at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers,
memorial donations in honor of Vera can be given to Hope Hospice and Palliative
Care.
