Frank was born on October 4, 1926 to Joseph and Anna (Tylke)
Gasek in the Township of Hammel. He was stationed in the Philippines as a Tech.
5 during WW2 from 1944-46. After the war he returned to Medford. He married
Audrey Grosskreutz at Holy Rosary Catholic Church on November 15, 1952.
Frank started his career working road construction for
Mueller Bros. and Universal Engineering, before working as a farmer in the
Township of Molitor. He then returned to road construction and worked for the
Taylor County Highway Department until his retirement in 1989.
In his spare time he enjoyed spending time with family,
hunting, fishing, joy riding in the Medford area on his UTV, and making
firewood in the fall. He was also a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church and
the American Legion.
Frank is survived by his wife, Audrey, sons, Leon (Kim)
Gasek and Joseph, both of Medford; daughters, Lenore (Russ Dassow) Gasek of
Medford and Lynette (Russ) Pfefferle of Appleton. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren
and 11 great-grandchildren.
Frank is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Ed,
sister, Louise, half-brothers, Stan Strama and Wally and Tony Gasek,
half-sisters, Bernice, Edna, and Mary Strama, and Stella and Rose Gasek.
A Funeral Mass for Frank will take place on Thursday, September
26, 2019 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church at 12:00 PM, with Father Patrick
McConnell officiating. Burial will follow at a later date. Visitation will take
place at Holy Rosary Catholic Church on Thursday, September 26, 2019 from 10:00
AM until the time of service at 12:00 PM. Following the Service, military
rites will be performed by the Medford Area Military Honors Team.
