PRINCIPLE EVENTS IN LIFE: Henry lived and farmed on the homestead in the town of Little Black his entire life until he moved to Our House Assisted Living in Medford 8 years ago. He enjoyed collecting tractors.

LORRAINE L. KRUG

Lorraine L. Krug, 76, of Stetsonville, passed away Monday August 1, 2016 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.

Lorraine was born May 28, 1940 in Clark County, WI to Elmer and Amelia (Hamm) Neitzel. She graduated from Medford Sr. High School in 1958. She then married George A. Krug on August 9, 1958 at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church, Holway. George survives.

Lorraine is further survived by her children: Dianne (Lynn) Jochimsen of Medford, Dawn (Jerry) Brink of Medford, Gary (Sara) Krug of Exeland, seven grandchildren; Justin (Shannon) Brink of Madison, Jenna Brink of Madison, Ashley (Oleksiy) Kuprin of Chippewa Falls, Andrew (Courtney) Krug of Auburndale, Logan Jochimsen of Eau Claire, Courtney Krug of Oshkosh, Garrett (Paige Jewell) of Exeland,  five great grandchildren Corey, Amelia, Theodore, Hailey and Brysen, and her Chihuahua; Lila.

She is preceded in death by her Parents, and Sister Thelma Buchholz.

Following her marriage, George and Lorraine lived on her family farm for 3 years before purchasing their first home west of Stetsonville, where they lived for 25 years. She worked for Medford and Holway schools in the kitchen. She then went on to work for Weather Shield Millwork Division for 26 years, and retired from there in 2003. In her retirement she loved her home on North Twin Lake where she enjoyed rides on her pontoon and paddle boating.  She took pleasure in working on plastic canvas, listening to country music, watching the Green Bay Packers and most of all, spending time with her family and friends.

She was a member of Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Holway, and a Charter Member of Pine Creek Snowmobile Club, and the Stetsonville American Legion Women’s Auxilliary.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday August 6, 2016 at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Holway. Rev. Lowell Bolstad will officiate. Cremainal inurnment will follow at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 – 7:00 PM, Friday August 5, at Hemer Funeral Home, Medford Chapel, and also one hour prior the service at church.

Memorial Donations in honor of Lorraine Krug can be given to her family, for designation at a later date.

MATTIE M. STEEDLEY

Mattie Mae Steedley, 77, currently of Abbotsford, formerly of Menomonie, passed away Saturday July 30, 2016 at Golden Living Center in Abbotsford.
Mattie was born March 4, 1939 in Eau Claire to Daniel and Mary Elizabeth Steedley. She married Donald V. Weber on May 16, 1961, he preceded her in death in 1999.
Mattie is survived by her children: Donna Bauer of Onalaska, Rhonda Weber of Medford, Ernest Ransom of Mankato, MN, Dawn (Randy) Krause of Westboro, grandchildren: Ross Bauer, Ashley Weber Raddle, Tessa Krause, and Chris Krause.
She is further preceded in death by her Parents Daniel and Mary Elizabeth Steedley, her Siblings; Robert and Joseph Jackson Steedley, and Mary (Betty) Tognoni.
Mattie was a loving mother, sister, grandmother, and friend. She enjoyed cooking, spending time with her children and grandchildren, and meeting and talking with people. She truly loved her “dog” Pumpkin.
Cremation rites have been accorded; a grave side prayer service will take place at 10:30 AM, Saturday August 13, 2016 at St. Henry’s Parish Cemetery in Eau Galle, with Father Jerome Hoeser officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in honor of Mattie Steedley can be given to her family, for designation at a later date.

MARY C. BECKER

Heaven opened its arms to receive Mary (Probst) Becker on July 19, 2016 at the age of 84.
She was born in the Town of Rib Lake on November 4, 1931 to Joseph and Ilene (Newcomb) Probst. She graduated from Rib Lake High School and after a short work tenure in Junction City, married Raymond Becker at Rib Lake on October 15, 1949.
Mary was a firm believer in family, hard work and dignity of human life. She was active with Rib Lake Hope Hospice and was honored as the Wisconsin Hospice Volunteer of the Year in 1998. She was also an Emergency Medical Technician for the Rib Lake Ambulance Service and studied Nursing at Northcentral Technical College. She mentored 4-H club members and was active with ARC (formerly known as the Association of Retarded Citizens) and remained a staunch advocate for the care and education of the developmentally disabled throughout her life.
Mary made the world a better place through a life dedicated to her large family, friends, and community. Her kindness, generosity and compassion touched many. She was passionate about ecology and the environment. She was an avid reader and valued learning and higher education. She loved the outdoors and had a special connection with nature and the earth; she enjoyed studying and recording Mother Nature’s changes. She had a Master Gardener designation and you could often find her knee deep in dirt. She led by example and taught her children to reach high, live every day to its fullest and never give up.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to all of her friends and family for the time, love, laughter and friendship shared with her throughout the years. She loved you all. We are especially appreciative of the staff at Medford Aspirus and University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics, particularly Michelle Bucki, Jessie Sperl, Dr. Walter Kao/Laura Delp and Dr. Ann O’Rourke – you gave us the gift of additional precious time with her. And to Ron and Ilene, words can never express our gratitude for your undying devotion and commitment to insuring Mom never lacked for anything.
She is survived by her children: Beverly (Tim) O’Meara of Chicago, Juliann (Mike) Albers of Hickory, NC, Ron Becker of Rib Lake, Marty Becker of Rio, Ilene (Mike) Coleman of Rib Lake, Bernadette (Dale) Strobach of Clear Lake, Duffy (Dennis) Johnson of Green Bay, Christine Becker of Monroe, Edward (Janine) Becker of Medford, Jill Becker of Rib Mountain, Jacqueline (Chad) Becker-Tylka of Chetek, Bonnie Becker of Wausau, Philip Becker of San Francisco, CA, and her siblings: Leo Liebl of Stevens Point, Teresa McGuire, Joan Eisner and Laverne Probst all of Rib Lake. She is also survived by 20 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by husband Raymond Becker in 1985, son Gregory Becker in 1972, sisters Dorothy Schrader, Geraldine Anders and brothers Oscar Probst and Fred Probst.
The family would like to invite all to a memorial gathering to celebrate her life. It will be held from 12 noon until 3:00 PM on Saturday, July 30, 2016 at Hemer Funeral Home in Medford.

DELBERT BRUCE WELLS

Delbert Bruce Wells, husband, father, grandfather, carpenter, farmer, trapper, hunter, and fisherman died peacefully at home on July 21, 2016 surrounded by his family under the care of Hope Hospice. Delbert was born to Harry David Wells and Bonnie Louise (Alexander) Wells in Kincaid, IL. He attended various elementary schools in Michigan, Meadowbrook School in the Town of Hammel and Medford High School.
Delbert joined the Navy in 1943 and served as a gunner on merchant and Navy troop and supply ships in the European, Mediterranean and Pacific Theaters. In 1946 he married the love of his life, Genevieve Mae Diels, and the family settled initially in the Town of Hammel where he farmed and engaged in logging. In 1950 the family moved to West Plains, MO where Delbert honed his skills in carpentry, constructing 9 new homes. In 1963 the family moved back to the Town Hammel, where Delbert was a dairy farmer and carpenter, constructing 24 new homes and renovating many other homes and barns.
Delbert was a member of Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church, where he served on the Building Committee, and the Boxrucker-Barry American Legion Post 519 of Stetsonville, WI.
Delbert is survived by his sister, Lyndoll Wells of Medford, WI, and children: Dale of Allen, TX; Bruce and his wife Sharon (Emmerich) of Mount Vernon, IL; Dawn of Medford, WI; Pamela and her husband Bruce Emmerich of Phillips, WI; David and his wife Mary (Kretschmer) of Melissa, TX; Kevin and his wife Leza (Malstrom) of Medford, WI; Susan and her husband Joseph Belzer of St. Louis Park, MN; Deirdre of Marshfield, WI; Ethan (deceased) and his wife, Tina (Boelk) of Medford, WI; James and significant other Sandi Kuenne of Medford, WI; and Melody and her husband Tim Mueller of Mosinee, WI; 28 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren.
Delbert is preceded in death by his wife Genevieve; parents, Harry David Wells and Bonnie Louise (Alexander) Wells; a brother, James; and a son, Ethan John.
Funeral services for Delbert will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, July 28, 2015 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in the town of Holway, with Pastor Lowell Bolstad officiating. Burial will follow in Our Savior’s Lutheran Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 27, 2015 at Hemer Funeral Home, Medford Chapel, from 4:00 – 7:00 PM, and also on Thursday from 9:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the church.
Honorary Pallbearers are the former military members of the family Lyndoll Wells, Bruce Wells, Dawn Wells, Bruce Emmerich, David Wells and Kevin Wells. His grandchildren Scott Wells, Lynda (Wells) Brock, Jarrod Wells, Kyle Wells, Nicholas Wells, Cody Wells, Ashley (Wells) Vasquez, Lucas Wells, Tonya (Emmerich) Brost, Kara (Emmerich) Sperl, Travis Wells, Nathaniel Wells, Joshua Wells, Benjamin Wells, Kimberly Wells, Lauren Wells, Neill Nettesheim, William Wells, Lucas Nettesheim, James Nettesheim, Aaron Belzer, Brian Belzer, Adam Belzer, Megan (Novinska) Harris, Justin Novinska, Brittany Wells, Samantha (Wells) Brackmann and Bonnie (Wells) Fischer will serve as pallbearers.
Full Military Honors will be performed by the Stetsonville American Legion Military Honors Team
