ROGER L. BRANDNER, SR.

Roger Lee Brandner, Sr., 70, of Medford, passed away surrounded by his loving family on March 10, 2018 after a courageous five-year battle of Mantel Cell Lymphoma. He is the son of Edward J. and Edna I. (Frischmann) Brandner born on May 14, 1947 in Medford, WI. He graduated from Medford High School in 1965 and later went on to earn his Business Administration Degree.

In 1966 he enlisted in Wisconsin Army National Guard and worked for the Department of Defense, retired as an E-8 1^st SGT after 32 years of service. While enlisted he served as a Support Service Specialist for the U.S. Army under Civil Services in Madison, Wisconsin Rapids, Marshfield, Abbotsford, and Medford from 1970-1998. Roger then went on to work at Hurd as plant manager from 1998 until his retirement in 2007.  He was married for almost fifty years to the love of his life, Janice C. Krause united in marriage on October 19, 1968, and she survives.

Roger was a devoted Catholic and member of OLPH parish in Whittlesey. He enjoyed being outdoors, fishing, hunting, camping, walking and playing cards.  Most of all, he valued spending time with his family. 

Roger was the proud father of Dawn (Jason) Heier of Medford, Roger Jr.  (Jennifer) Brandner of Pardeeville, Chuck (Tammy) Brandner of Fond Du Lac, Chris (Mike) Hanson of Thorp, and Sheila (Nathan) Hollatz of Marshfield; loving grandfather of Collyn and Katelyn Heier, Blake, Bailey, and Brianna Brandner, Seth, Alivia, Tyler, and Allie Brandner,  Alexa and Logan Hanson, and Addasyn and Kylee Hollatz; caring brother of Melva (Otto) Klinger, Delbert (June) Brandner, Ruth Zuleger, Edward (Rosie) Brandner, Ethel Laher, and Sharon (Jerry) Nowak. He is also survived by mother-in-law Marjorie Krause, and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Roger is preceded in death by his parents Edward and Edna Brandner, father-in-law, Edwin Krause, brother, Harvey Brandner, sister-in-law Arlene Brandner, brothers-in-law Richard Zuleger and Richard Laher.

A funeral mass for Roger will take place on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at OLPH Catholic Church, Whittlesey at 11:00 AM, with Father Phil Juza officiating. Visitation will take place at OLPH Catholic Church on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 from 4:00 PM until the time of a Catholic Rosary Service at 7:00 PM; visitation will continue on Wednesday from 10:00 AM until the time of mass at 11:00 AM. Military Rites will be performed by the Medford VFW and WI Army National Guard.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Roger’s name may be given to the family for use at a later designation.

ELMER J. REIMANN

Elmer J. Reimann, 88, of the Town of Little Black, passed away Wednesday March 7, 2018 at his home, under the care of Hope Hospice and Palliative Care.

Elmer was born July 18, 1929 in Chelsea, WI to Gustave and Alma (Sachse) Reimann. He attended Whittlesey Grade School and Medford High School. He married Carol M. Faber on June 25, 1955 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Medford. Carol Survives.

He is further survived by his Children: Ryan (Darlene) Reimann, Jayne (Jim) Sauer, Allyn (Sarah) Reimann all of Medford, Grandchildren: Tara (Brian) Abel, Tori Sauer, Marcus Reimann, Mason Reimann, Step Grandchildren: Lynda (Ken) Scolaro, James (Kim) Shereck, 6 Step Grand Grandchildren and 1 Step Great Great Grandchild, Siblings: Ray, Marilyn, Evelyn Reimann, of Medford, Neil (Delores) Reimann of Westboro, Juliana Reimann of Madison; sisters in law, Leta Reimann of Oak Creek and Dorothy Reimann of Milwaukee.

Elmer is preceded in death by his Parents, and Siblings: Leslie, Lillian, Vernon and Franklin Reimann, and an infant brother Gustave.

From 1948 – 1950 Elmer worked on the Alaskan Railroad and also logging and lumber mills in Alaska. He served in US Army in the Korean War from 1951 – 1953. He hauled milk and did carpentry work. He worked for Sturdy Kraft, Medford Fur Food, and K&B Refrigeration. Elmer and Carol owned their own dairy farm in the Town of Browning for 48 years.

Elmer enjoyed hunting, fishing and woodworking. Following his retirement, he Hobby Farmed in the Town of Little Black. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with his kids and grandkids.

He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church.

Cremation rites have been accorded, and a memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday March 17, 2018 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Medford. Pastor James Krueger will officiate. Visitation will be held from 9:00 – 11:00 AM at the church. Interment will take place at St. Andrew’s Cemetery in the town of Goodrich at a later date.

Memorial donations in honor of Elmer can be given to his family, for designation at a later date.

RICHARD M. HALL, SR.

Richard M. Hall, Sr., 70, of Jump River, passed away at Marshfield Medical Center on Saturday, March 3, 2018 surrounded by his family. He was born on July 7, 1947 to Leonard and Marie Hall in Dallas, OR. He graduated from Coos Bay High School and went on to earn his Associates Degree from Lane Community College. He married Neva Jo and they were later divorced. He then married Marietta and they were later divorced. He then met, Vicki, the love of his life and “wife” in his heart. Richard served in the U.S. Navy from 1966 to 74. He then served in the Army National Guard Reserves for several years.

In his spare time he enjoyed woodworking, gold panning and rock pounding, working on cars, fishing, telling stories of his adventures, and spending time with his family and friends.

Richard is survived by his wife Vicki; children, Kimberly Hall of Sun City, AZ, Wendy (Chris Sislo) Hall of Medford, and Richard (Tammy Povolo) Hall, Jr. of Kingsford, MI; grandchildren, Tyler (Chelsea Zak) Dake, Steven (Shaylee) Spencer (Hall), Trevor (Brianna Dodd) Dake, Shay Hall, Cooper Hall, and Maiah Hall and their mother Danielle; great-grandchildren, Freya Hall, Eli Dake and one on the way; brother, Carl (Linda) Hall, Jr.; sister, Starr (Mike) Boyle. Richard is further survived by nieces, nephews, and many other family and friends.

Richard is preceded in death by his parents.

KARL E. MALOVRH

Karl E. Malovrh, 55, of Medford passed away on Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at home due to natural causes. He was born on May 16, 1962 to Edward and Lillie (Hallberg) Malovrh in Medford. He attended Medford area schools and graduated from Medford Senior High School, where he was a member of the FFA. After schooling Karl went to work on the family farm and took over upon the passing of his father in 1990. He worked on the farm for 37 years until his passing.

In his spare time Karl enjoyed snowmobiling and visiting with family and friends. He will be remembered for his great memory for history.

Karl is survived by his siblings, Katherine (Steve) Bates of Hudson, Karin (Bob) Spanbauer of Waupun, Kristi Jochimsen of FL, Charles (Katie) Malovrh of Marshfield, Kevin (Nicole) Malovrh of Wausau, and Cindy (Mike) Dassow of Medford; nieces and nephews, Ryan (Ellen) Bates, Philip Bates, Koby and Kylee Spanbauer, Alex Jochimsen, Heather (Chris) Fruit, Brenna (Erik) Haferman, Rhianna and Nicholas Malovrh, Zachary And Kayla Malovrh, and Hannah, Emily, and Jake Dassow. Visitation will take place on Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church from 10:00 AM until the time of mass at 11:00 AM.

MARILYN Y. SCHOLL

Marilyn Yvonne Scholl, 82, of Medford passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 28, 2018 with family present at The House of the Dove hospice in Marshfield.

Marilyn was born on September 12, 1935 in Mondovi, Wisconsin to Fern “Ole” and Florence Taber. She attended elementary schools in Mondovi and Sheldon and graduated from Hannibal High School. She graduated from Taylor County Teachers’ College in Medford and taught elementary school in Hawkins.

She married Bob Scholl on November 23, 1956 at the Little Brown Church in the Vale in Nashua, Iowa. They owned and operated The House of Scholl Furniture store in Medford for 34 years until retiring in 1989.

Marilyn was a loving sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who had a warm, kind, generous soul. She enjoyed family activities, traveling, bowling, gardening and country music. She was a 4-H and Boy Scout Mom as well as a lifetime member of Eastern Star.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Bob Scholl and their six children: Bobbi (Perry) Moore of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Curt (Donna) Scholl of Medford, Kim Scholl of Rochester, Minnesota, Lynda (Joe) Vick of Waukesha, Randy (Lisa) Scholl of Medford, Cyndi (Gary) Ehrike of Columbus, Indiana, seven grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Ron (Joyce) Taber of Sheldon, and sisters, Diane (Dalue) Strutz of Antigo, and Cheryl Winchell of Holcombe.

She was predeceased by her parents, and two children, Robert and Carolyn, at birth.

Cremation rites were accorded and a private family celebration of Marilyn’s life was held on Monday, March 12, at Community United Church of Christ in Medford with Pastor Mary Jo Laab officiating.
