After her mother remarried, Bernadine became the sister of four more siblings. She met the love of her life, Gerald and they were married on August 3, 1947. Bernadine loved being a wife, mother, and homemaker. She loved to cook, sew, make crafts, very active in church and had so many other talents. She worked as a waitress and they also raised mink for many years. Bernadine helped with their care. In later years they purchased a Montgomery Wards Store in Medford, which they owned and operated for several years. Eventually they then opened a Furniture Store on Highway 13 in Medford. Bernadine worked full time at both the Montgomery Wards business until it sold and later at the furniture business.
