Pauline E.
Thums, 96, of Rib Lake, passed away Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at Golden Living
Center in Rib Lake.
Pauline was
born December 6, 1919 in the town of Chelsea to Andrew and Emma (Strobach)
Mann.
Pauline
attended grade school in Whittlesey. While growing up she worked on the family
farm. She married Benedict Thums on February 28, 1938 at St. John’s the Baptist
Church in Rib Lake, and then settled on the farm. Pauline then went on to work
for Gem Products for twenty seven years until retirement. She then cared for
her brother John for eight years until his death.
Pauline
loved to farm, crochet, sew, playing cards, listening to music and was an avid
Green Bay Packers fan. Most of all she loved to be surrounded by her family and
friends.
She is
survived by her two sons; Ron Thums of Curtiss, and Mike (Mary Ellen) Thums of
Rib Lake, twelve grandchildren; Dan, Julie, Terri, Ben, Christina, Dori,
Phillip, Steve, Rodney, Kyle, Carrie, Bobbie, and thirteen great grandchildren, one great-great
grandchild, and many nieces and nephews.
Pauline is preceded in death by her Parents, Husband, Daughter Pat Zutavern, Infant Son Daniel, daughter in law Madelyne Thums, three sisters; Margaret, Catherine, and Theresa, and three brothers; Joe, Andy and John.
A funeral mass will be held at 10:00
AM, Friday July 22, 2016 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, Rib Lake, with
Father Otto Bucher officiating. Visitation will be held from 4 – 7 PM, Thursday
July 21, 2016
at Good Shepherd Catholic Church
in Rib Lake, a prayer service will be held at 7 PM, visitation will resume
Friday morning from 9 AM until the time of services at church. Cremation rites
will be accorded following the service, and burial of cremated remains will
take place at a later date at St. Ann’s Cemetery.
Memorial
Donations in honor of Pauline E. Thums can be given to her family, for
designation at a later date.
