A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday June 1, 2019 at Hemer Funeral Home, Medford Chapel. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Medford Evergreen Cemetery II, Pallbearers will be Jon Nyhus, Jim Nyhus, Kaden Nyhus, Jennifer Stibbe, Justin Roth, Dennis Salzgeber.
Hilda was born June 17, 1927 in the Town of Goodrich to John and Ursula Salzgeber. She married Ernest “E.J.” Krueger in 1948, he preceded her in death in 1984.
She is survived by her 3 Daughters: Laurie (Bruce) Kestler of Florida, Sherry Krueger (“Sparky”) of Dorchester and Terriesa Krueger of Medford, 9 Grandchildren, 8 Great Grandchildren, 2 Sisters in Law Evelyn and Ester and many nieces and nephews. She will be dearly missed by her friends of many years, Elva and Bernadette.
Hilda is preceded in death by her Parents, Husband, Sister Frieda Giese, Brothers John Jr. and Christ Salzgeber, 2 brothers in infancy, Great Granddaughters Kassidy Nyhus and Ophelia Maeve Roth.
Early in Hilda and E.J.’s marriage they lived and worked in various places throughout the upper Midwest before settling in the Medford area in the early 1960s. She was a homemaker and mother and worked for several local businesses in the area.
She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, sewing, puzzles and visiting with family and friends and reminiscing and sharing stories of good times had. Growing up on a farm, she had a passion for animals and was proud of her 100% Swiss heritage.
