PRINCIPAL EVENTS IN LIFE: After his education he entered the US Navy and was a veteran of WW II.  After the service he worked in Iowa for a period of time.  Then he worked at Allen Bradley Co. in Milwaukee for 18 years.  In 1971 they moved to Rib Lake where he farmed for a short time in the Town of Rib Lake, drove truck for Tlusty Beverage Co. in Rib Lake, and drove school bus.  He worked at Weather Shield in Medford for 18 years until retirement.  He enjoyed gardening & playing cribbage.

EDUCATION: Attended grade school in Tomahawk, moved to Spirit in 1928 where he attended Stone Lake grade school

MARRIAGE: June 22, 1946 at St John the Baptist Catholic Church to Myrtle Ruth Olson and she preceded him in death on December 28, 2009.

PRINCIPAL EVENTS IN LIFE: After school he worked on his parent’s farm. He then moved to Arlington Heights and worked for a creamery package company for a period of time. Bob then enlisted in the U.S. Army during WWII, serving from 1942-1945. After his time in the service, he came back to Spirit where he met Myrtle on a blind date, where they were then married for 63 years. They owned and operated a dairy farm for 10 years, where he was also a logger. Bob was then employed by Magnuson Bros.  Fur Farm for 34 years, last working as an outdoor supervisor until his retirement in 1985. He enjoyed playing cards & belonged to various card clubs in the Town of Spirit. He also enjoyed hunting, gardening, traveling, camping and going to dances.
 
MEMBER OF:  Good Shepherd Catholic Church, Rib Lake; Spirit American Legion Post#452; Southern Price County V.F.W. Post# 8491; Catholic Order of Foresters; St. John’s Court#823;  Town of Spirit Clerk from 1962-1975; Chairman for the Town of Spirit from 1979-1997. Past president of the Wisconsin Township, Price County Unit.

PRINCIPAL EVENTS IN LIFE: After his education, he spent 25 years as a member of the Medford National Guard, 31 years working at Tombstone Pizza as a truck driver, dispatcher and supervisor.  Most recently he had worked as a dispatcher for Blume Farms Trucking, Roehl Trucking, and at the time of his death he was dispatching for Horst Trucking of Dorchester.  He also tended bar for the Simek Recreation Center & Lounge Around in Medford.  He also did custom cooking work for various local functions.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing & playing cards.
