PRINCIPAL EVENTS IN LIFE: Frank served in the U.S. Army Reserve from 1957-1963. He was called to active duty during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He then owned and operated a service station in Lake Mills and in Fort Atkinson, during this time he also worked in the auto industry at various locations in Watertown, Lake Mills, and Fort Atkinson until moving to Medford in 1976. While residing in Medford he was the fleet manager of Tombstone Pizza until 1991 and Bauer Trucking, where he was the parts manager until his retirement in 1996. Frank enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, bowling, snowmobiling, horseshoes, watching the Packers and NASCAR.

PRINCIPAL EVENTS IN LIFE: As a young child, Bill moved to Ladysmith. He was raised by William and Christine Baker and they moved to Stetsonville. He entered the U.S. Air Force and served as a Flight Engineer during the Korean War. He also served 4 years in the Air Force Reserve. Bill did veal and poultry farming in the Town of Little Black for 40 years, during this time he also was a feed consultant for Supreme Foods and was one of the first salesmen for Tombstone Pizza for a period of time. Bill enjoyed all things outdoors, which included, gardening, fishing, hunting, camping, especially with his children and grandchildren. Bill was always quick with a smile and loved to make others laugh. He was a great artist. He also enjoyed attending all the grandchildren’s sporting events.

He was an avid reader and enjoyed hunting, fishing, logging, horse pulls, 4-wheeling and snowmobiling. Joe also enjoyed going to the Short Prong Lodge.

After retirement from that, he owned and operated Gowey Abstract and Title Co. in Medford for a period of years. He had served on the boards of Tee-Hi Golf, Taylor Co. Historical Society and Memorial Hosp of Taylor Co. for periods of time. He enjoyed his church, golf, playing cards, traveling, gardening and spending time with his grandchildren.

He started racing cars at the age of 20, raced vintage modified cars for 26 years retiring from that in 1980. He was inducted into the Southeastern Wisconsin Short Track Hall of Fame in 2009 where he was known as “Donald the Duck” & “Sneaky Pete” in the racing circles.
