PRINCIPAL EVENTS IN LIFE: Herb served in the U.S. Marine Corps from March 1943 to March 1946, where he was a radio operator while serving in the Pacific Theatre WWII. He received rank of Corporal. Herbert saw action on Iwo Jima and witnessed the flag raising on Mount Suribachi. Herbert had 29 years of service at the Medford Post Office, where he was a city carrier and rural letter carrier. He enjoyed woodworking, traveling and all music, whether it was playing the piano, the organ or singing in church choirs.
