EDUCATION: Attended Ward Grade School and was a 1950 graduate of Rib Lake High School

MARRIAGE: July 12, 1965 at St. John the Baptist Church, Rib Lake to Donna L. Etten

PRINCIPAL EVENTS IN LIFE: Marlin was stationed in Germany during the Korean Conflict while he served in the U.S. Army. After his return from the service he was a Stock Car Driver for 20 years, where Tombstone Pizza was one of his major sponsors and then was a Finishing Carpenter for Doyle and Houtari Construction for 20 years until his retirement. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Marlin enjoyed attending and watching races, any sporting events and working in the woods. He enjoyed animals where he had a hobby farm. Marlin enjoyed playing the trumpet, where he started in his father’s band during his 8th grade and then played in various local bands.

Former Member: USAC and NASCAR where he won the National Championship in 1967

SURVIVING CHILDREN: 2 Sons: M. Kurt (Karla) Walbeck of Fall Creek and M. Kent (LeAnn) Walbeck of Eau Claire
2 Daughters: Dana (David) Kamke of Mosinee and Diana (Ron) Krajnik of Appleton

15 SURVIVING GRANDCHILDREN: Aaron and Isaac West, McKenna and Braden Walbeck, Gabriella, Spencer, Sophia and Greta Kamke, Azrianna, Isabella, Sarah, Emma and Noah Krajnik, Blake Hort and Lillee Walbeck

OTHER INFORMATION: In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to be made in Marlin’s name to the Good Shepherd Catholic Church Window Fund or to the Rib Lake Public Library.
Marlin's body was donated to the University of Wisconsin Medical School in Madison, Wisconsin.
Hemer Funeral Homes of Medford and Rib Lake is assisting the family with arrangements.
