Marie C. "Marion" Faber, 93, passed away peacefully Sunday August 20, 2017 at her residence, surrounded by her loving family, and under the care of Hope Hospice.
Marie was born July 8, 1924 in Chicago, IL to Joseph and Mae (Koncel) Lapacek. She married Everett Faber on November 28, 1946 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Medford. They were married for 70 years. Everett survives.
Marie is further survived by her daughter: Kathleen (John) Klingbeil of Goodrich, Grandchildren Lee Schmidt, Libby Schmidt (Aric Way), Joshua (Brooke Sperry), Jonathan, Garett (Rebecca) and Grant (Danielle) Klingbeil, seven Great Grandchildren, several Great Great Grandchildren and Sister in Law: Kathryn Lapacek of Waunakee. 4 sisters in law and 4 brothers in law on Everett's side.
She is preceded in death by her Parents, Daughter: Patricia Schmidt, Great Grandson Keith Schmidt, Brothers: Frank and Joseph Lapacek II, and Sister: Lillian Meyer. She is further preceded in death by 2 sisters in law and 1 brother in law on her side and 5 sisters in law and 5 brothers in law on Everett's side.
Marie moved with her family to the Medford area when she was a child. Following high school, she attended Medford Teachers College "Normal School" and went on to teach at several elementary schools in the Medford area. She later completed her B.S. degree in Education at UW- Stevens Point.In 1950, her family moved to Goodrich where they farmed until 1977, when they moved back to Medford. She finished her teaching career as a Social Studies teacher at Medford Jr. High.
She enjoyed spending time at the family lake cabin, traveling with their camper and later motor home clubs, wintering in Florida, Arizona and Texas. Marie was a member of the Medford VFW Auxiliary Post.
Marie loved her family dearly, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed spending time with each and every one, and cooking meals for them.
Cremation rites have been accorded, and a Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday August 26, 2017 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Father David Nueschwander will officiate. Burial will take place at a later date at the Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spooner. Visitation will be held on Saturday at Holy Rosary Church from 9:00 AM until the time of Mass at 11:00 AM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be given to Hope Hospice and Palliative Care, or Huey's Hideaway Children's Museum.
