Dennis was born December 12, 1939 in Chicago, IL to John and Frances (Andraciewicz) Nawracaj. He attended and graduated from Colby High School in 1959.
Dennis is survived by his Sister: Diana Sand, Niece Danielle (Kenneth) Johns, Great Nephew Ryan McAdams, Great Nieces Emily Johns, all of Rockford, IL, and many other family members in Wisconsin and Illinois.
After high school Dennis worked on the family farm in Unity, WI and was then drafted into the US Army and was stationed in Ft. Gordon, Georgia. Following the military he moved to Illinois with his family. He then became superintendent of the Parks and Recreation of Glendale Heights, IL, where he retired from. He then moved to Rib Lake to enjoy his retirement.
Dennis loved to play cards with his friends, he was a member of several bowling leagues in Illinois, and an avid Chicago sports fan. He loved to watch old western movies, especially John Wayne, and had a collection of John Wayne memorabilia.
He served as Rib Lake Village president for one year.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday March 16, 2018 at Hemer Funeral Home, Medford Chapel. Military Rites will be rendered. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Colby. Visitation will take place on Friday, March 16, 2018 at Hemer Funeral Home, Medford Chapel from 9:30 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM.
