George was born on June, 20 1924 to Michael and Cecilia (Trumm) Troiber in Birnamwood. He attended St. Dominic’s grade school and later Forest Grove grade school in the Town of Holway. He married Jeanette “Nettie” Fritsche on October 3, 1953 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Stetsonville. She preceded him in death on January 26, 2014. His family owned the Ace of Clubs in the Town of Holway. George worked various manufacturing jobs including, Franklin’s Service and Sales in Prentice, Harvey Company, and National Presto Company in Eau Claire.
In his spare time George enjoyed hunting, fishing, spending time with his family, and was a past member of the Olkives Horseshoe Team.
George is survived by five sons, Phillip Troiber of Edgar, Matthew (Robin) Troiber of Hannibal, Wayne (Iva Jean) Troiber and James (Noreen) Troiber, both of Medford, and Bradley (Gail) Troiber of Owen; three daughters, Ann (John) Lemke of Medford, Karen Troiber, and Jenny Troiber, both of Casper, WY; 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. He is further survived by many other family and friends.
In addition to his wife and parents George is preceded in death by his great-grandson, Jonathan Jones, brother, Vernon Troiber, and sister-in-law Ruth Troiber.
A memorial Mass for George will take place at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, with Father Otto Bucher officiating. Burial will take place at a later date at St. Mary’s Cemetery in the Town of Holway. Visitation will take place on Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church from 9:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM.
