KENNETH G. SPERL


Kenneth G. Sperl, 84, of Medford, passed away Wednesday December 12, 2018 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
Cremation rites have been accorded, and a Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 AM, Thursday December 20, 2018 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held that morning at the church from 9:30 until the time of Mass at 11:00.
Ken was born November 9, 1934 in the Town of Little Black to Louis and Theresea (Rothamer) Sperl. He graduated from Holy Rosary Schools. On October 26, 1957, Ken married Margaret Gillis at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Athens. Margaret preceded Ken in death on July 16, 2007.
He is survived by his Sons: John(Kimberly) of Weston, Kevin and Mitchell (Cindy) both of Medford, Grandchildren: Brad Kolecheck, Patrick Sperl, Brittany Sperl, Jeffrey Kolecheck, Dustin Sperl, Sister Donna Seidel of Medford, and Special Friend Marcie Poirier of Medford.
Ken is further preceded in death by his Parents, Daughter and Son in Law Judy (Joe) Kolecheck, Siblings: Eleanor Sherfield, Robert Sperl and Margie Halopka.
Ken owned and operated his own dairy farm with Margaret in the Town of Little Black until moving to the city of Medford. While running the farm, he also worked for Sturdy Craft Window Company. Ken then went on to work for the Taylor County Highway Department where he drove trucks and snow plow. He enjoyed small game hunting, playing cards, watching gameshows and had a strong passion for fishing.
He was a member of the Catholic faith, and a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in honor of Kenneth can be given to Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
