Cremation
rites have been accorded and a memorial service will be held Friday January 25,
2019 at Immanuel Lutheran Church with Rev. Daniel Iwinski officiating. Visitation
will be held that morning at Immanuel Lutheran church from 9:30 AM until the
time of service at 11:00 AM. Burial will be held at Medford Evergreen Cemetery
in the spring.
Eleanor was
born August 10, 1921 in Medford Wisconsin to Joseph and Emma (Mildbrand)
Emmerich. She married Arthur A. Wohlt on October 28, 1939 at Immanuel Lutheran
Church in Medford. Arthur preceded her in death on October 21, 1989. Eleanor
and Arthur owned and operated a dairy farm for 37 years, retiring in 1975. Eleanor
then worked in the Memorial Hospital kitchen until she retired in 1983. After
retirement, Eleanor volunteered at the Stetsonville Senior Center and was even named
“Volunteer of the Year”, an accomplishment she was very proud of. In her free
time, Eleanor enjoyed playing Bingo, Cards, especially Sheepshead, Embroidering,
and watching the Packers and Brewers.
She is
survived by her children: Dennis Wohlt of West Bend, Shirley (Jim) Minsaas of
Curtiss, and Beverly (Jim) Krueger of Medford. Grandchildren: Wendy (Dave) Blank of Medford,
Teri (Del) Falker of Desota, Brenda (Mitch) Buchholz of Owen, Tammi (Dave) Bardsley
of Puyallup WA, Paula (Mike) Treu of Wausau, Stacie (Barry) Degnitz of Peshtigo,
Christa (Erv) Lange of West Bend, Chad (Casey) Wohlt of West Bend, Michele
Krueger, and Kent Krueger both of Medford, 19 Great Grandchildren, 2 Step
Great-Grandchildren, 7 Great-Great Grandchildren, 2 Step Great-Great
Grandchildren, and one sister; Florence Lemke of Medford.
Eleanor is
preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one great-grandson, Marty Falker, Daughter-in-Law
Rachel Wohlt. Siblings; Alfred, Edmund, Joseph, Clarence, Raymond, Arthur, and
Melvin Emmerich, Daisy Brink, and Edna Schwarz.
In lieu of
flowers , memorial donation in honor of Eleanor can be given to her family for
future designation.
