Helen E. Christianson, 82, of Rib Lake, passed away on
Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at Dycora Transitional Health and Living.
She was born on September 15, 1936 to Frank and Winafred
(Wehrmann) Erdman in Rib Lake. She attended Fawn Valley and Rib Lake area
schools. She married DuWayne E. Christianson on June 4, 1960; he preceded her
in death on March 15, 1989.
Helen worked at Gem Products before she farmed on the Family
Dairy Farm. She continued farming until DuWayne passed away. She then worked at
Rib Lake Health Services as a CNA, laundry aid, and in housekeeping until
retirement. In retirement she volunteered at Rib Lake Health Services helping
with bingo and sing-a-longs. She entered Rib Lake Health Services in October of
2013 as a patient until failing health required her to move to Dycora in July
of 2018.
In her spare time Helen enjoyed making homemade baked goods,
gardening, canning, driving tractor for bailing hay, caring for animals, and
spending time with family and friends.
Helen is survived by her children, Allen Christianson of Rib
Lake, Tammy (Paul) Bergeson of Wausau, and Randy Christianson of Rib Lake;
grandchildren, Tyler (Danielle) Bergeson, Travis Bergeson, and Ted Davis, all
of Wausau; great-grandchildren, Madisyn and Raelyn Bergeson, both of Wausau.
She is also survived by her brother, James Erdman or Rib Lake and sister,
Bernice (Bernard) Bartelt of New Berlin and 6 nieces and nephews.
Helen is
further survived by many other family and friends.
A funeral service for Helen will take place at 12:00 PM on Saturday,
January 12, 2019 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, with Rev. Kenneth Bittorf
officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery. Visitation will take
place on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church from 9:00 AM
until the time of service at 12:00 PM.
Helen is preceded in death by her husband and parents.
Memorial donations in Helen’s name may be given to the family
for use at a later designation.
