Curt was born on November 23,
1960 in Marshfield, Wisconsin to Robert Curtis Scholl and Marilyn Yvonne
Scholl. Curt was raised and remained in Medford throughout his lifetime.
In his youth, he helped out at
his parent’s furniture store, The House of Scholl Furniture. The words scrolled
across the furniture store’s front door, “Through this door pass the finest
people in this world – our customers” was a philosophy and quote Curt would
later apply to his own business and door.
Curt attended North Central
Technical Institute in Antigo and began his work in the auto body industry. He
was employed by Deml’s Body Repair and Prochnow Transport before starting his
own business in 1986.In his early twenties, Curt conquered his first bout with cancer. It was during this first battle that his sister, Bobbi, gave Curt the famous, “Arise, go forth, and conquer” duckling poster. Curt later passed this poster on to a number of community members during their own fight with cancer, hoping to instill them with the same encouragement it brought him.
Curt was a friend to all and had an uncanny ability to remember almost anyone’s name, story, and background. He enjoyed family activities, hunting, boating, riding his motorcycle, and diving into ambitious projects around the home. He also enjoyed many genres of music. Curt had a penchant for song and was well known for his ability to karaoke and cut a rug like no other. Whether in the kitchen or on the grill, Curt was an amazing cook. He was a jack of all trades and seemingly had a knack for almost anything he put his mind to. As a lifelong resident of Medford, Curt got to know many people throughout the years. Whether a friend or a customer, Curt enjoyed making and maintaining relationships with those around him.
Throughout his valiant fight with
pancreatic cancer over the past year, Curt maintained an outstanding strength,
positivity, graciousness, and kindness that amazed his loved ones each and
every day. Even during trying times, Curt worked to put a smile on other’s
faces, and thought of others often. Although Curt wishes he could have stayed
here longer, he was thankful for the 35 years he was granted after his first
cancer diagnosis.
Curt offered his beloved daughters and wife words to remember him by and told them “Remember what is important to you”. His family encourages everyone to live by these words and cherish every moment with their loved ones.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Donna Scholl and their two children: Courtney Scholl (Allan Koffler) of Medford and Kirsten Scholl of Eau Claire. Curt was lucky enough to become “Grandpa Curt” before his passing, and is survived by three grandchildren, Oliver, Eli, and Sienna.
He is also survived by his father, Robert Scholl and siblings, Bobbi (Perry) Moore of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Kim Scholl of
Rochester, Minnesota, Lynda (Joe) Vick of Waukesha, Randy (Lisa) Scholl of
Medford, and Cyndi (Gary) Ehrike of Columbus, Indiana. He was predeceased by
his mother, Marilyn Scholl, and two siblings, Robert and Carolyn, at birth.
A memorial service for Curt will
take place at Community United Church of Christ on Friday, May 18, 2018 at
11:00 AM, with Pastor Mary Jo Laabs officiating. Visitation will take place on
Thursday May 17, 2018 at Hemer Funeral Home, Medford Chapel, from 4:00 PM -
7:00PM. Visitation will continue on Friday May 18, 2018 at Community United
Church of Christ from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM.

2017, Curt was the first recipient of the “Helping Hand” fundraiser, a local
event which raises money for individuals affected by cancer within our
