She was born
on April 26, 1927 in Dorchester to William and Selma (Blasel) Gumz.
She married
Glen Kreklau on May 20, 1948. He
preceded her in death on July 13, 1993.
Together they farmed in the Town of Deer Creek, Stetsonville. She worked as a homemaker and also helped on
the family farm. She was a member of
Zion Lutheran Church in Stetsonville.
Esther loved
spending time with her family. She also
loved gardening, baking, playing cards and taking road trips with her
family.
Esther is
survived by her children, Larry (Linda) of Schofield, James (Nancy) of Medford,
Rick (Lori) of Stetsonville and David (Theresa) of Stetsonville; 14
Grandchildren and 11 Great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by her sister Betty (Jerry) Gebert of Holcombe.
In addition
to her parents and husband, Esther is preceded in death by her brothers, Alfred,
Eugene, Leonard and William Gumz.
Funeral
services will be held at 11:00AM on Friday, May 11, 2018 at Zion Lutheran
Church in Stetsonville with Pastor Richard Russow and Pastor James Babbler officiating. Burial will take place following the service
at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be Friday, May 11 at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church
from 9:00AM until the time of service at 11:00AM.
In lieu of
flowers memorial donations in Esther’s name may be given to the family for a
memorial designation to be determined at a later date.
