MARVIN H. LISKE

Marvin Herbert Liske, 93, of Medford, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at his home.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 18 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Medford, with Father Phil Juza officiating. Burial and graveside military rites performed by the Medford Area Military Honors Team, to be followed at Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery, Medford. Visitation to be held from 9:30 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. at the church that same day.
Pallbearers are Sam, Lucas, Christopher and Chad Liske, Casey and Kyle Daneen and Tyler Raab. Hemer Funeral Service in Medford assisted the family.
Marvin was born on December 30, 1924 in the Township of Browning to Emanuel and Mary (Frey) Liske. He was a graduate of Medford Middle School. He was a US Army veteran of WWII having served as an airplane mechanic in Germany. He worked for Strebig Auto in Medford after his return. On June 13, 1953 at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in the Township of Greenwood, he married Lucy Matyka and she preceded him in death on June 9, 2017 . In 1964, he started Liske Marine and was a successful businessman selling snowmobiles, motorcycles, ATV's and outboards until he retired. Even though, he was known to still come into work almost every day.
He enjoyed piloting planes and racing snowmobiles (when he was younger), waterskiing (into his 80’s), bowling, hunting, spending time at the lake and being with family and friends. He was a Medford Lions member for many years and was excited to participate in the Never Forgotten Honor Flight to Washington D.C. in April. Marvin was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Medford Knights of Columbus, Medford American Legion and VFW Clubs & the NRA.
Marvin is survived by his sons, George, John and Peter (Corinne), all of Medford; daughter, Lisa (Todd Campfield) Raab of Wausau; son-in-law, Dan Deneen of Pewaukee; his brothers Alvin Liske of Medford and Roland (Ila) Liske of New Berlin; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Along with his wife, Marvin is preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Mary Deneen in 2003; brothers: Edmund and Raymond Liske; sisters: Lillian Wanker, Helen Miller, and Ester Billows.
