Edward V. Kraemer, 92, of Medford passed away at his residence surrounded by his family, under the care of Hope Hospice
Edward was born on September 27, 1927 to Joseph and Mary (Foreanky) Kraemer in the Township of Medford. He attended Frey grade school in the Town of Browning. He served in the Army from 1951 – 1953 and served in Korea. He married Catherine Molitor in 1955 and she preceded him in death in 1973. He then married Dorothy Empy in 1974, she survives.
Edward owned and operated logging businesses. He liked working in shops and going to auctions. He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, Catholic Order of Foresters, and the Klossner Deitzler VFW Post 5729.
In addition to his wife, Edward is survived by his children, Mary (Dave) Frey of Stetsonville, Bob (Janice) Kraemer, Mike (Wendy) Kraemer, and Pat Kraemer, all of Medford; 9 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren, and 20 step-great-grandchildren; sisters, Katherine Poehnelt, Ilene Rogers, and Maryanne Dassow; stepbrother Tony (Joann) Fleischman. Edward is further survived by many other family and friends.
In addition to his parent and first wife, Edward is preceded in death by son, Jimmy Kraemer; grandson, Jimmy Kraemer; brother, Henry Kraemer; sister, Agnes Leader.
A Funeral Mass for Edward will take place on Wednesday, February 12, 2020 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church at 11:00 AM, with Father Patrick McConnell officiating followed by full military honors performed by the Medford Area Military Honors Team. Burial will follow at Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will take place on Tuesday, February 11, 202 at Hemer Funeral Home – Medford Chapel from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM, when a Rosary service will take place. Visitation will continue on Wednesday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM.
