David “Dave” W. Shadrick, 68, a Township of Medford resident, was involved in a tragic ATV accident resulting in his death on July 31.
There will be a public visitation for Dave from 4-7 PM on Tuesday, August 4 at Hemer Funeral Home, Medford. Due to COVID guidelines, and family health concerns, masks will be required inside the funeral home. There will be a private, family only service at a later date.
Dave was born on September 20, 1951 in Medford to the late Roy and Ruth (Jarchow) Shadrick. He attended Goodrich elementary schools, Medford High School and was a 1969 graduate of Rib Lake High School. His marriage took place on September 18, 1971 at St. Andrew Ev. Lutheran Church, Goodrich to Shiela R. Wegerer and she survives.
After his education, he worked in the woods as a logger until retirement. He was a devoted husband and father who loved watching the G.B. Packers, hunting, fishing, golfing and the outdoors. He was a fix-it kind of guy who could fix anything. His latest pride and passion was building and working on his cabin in Lincoln County with his family and friends. Dave was also a 3 year cancer survivor. He was a lifetime member of the NRA.
Dave is survived by his wife, Shiela of Medford, daughters, Michelle (Marty Challenger) Shadrick of Verona and Heather Shadrick of Madison. Also surviving are his siblings, Robert (Donna) Shadrick of Phillips, Betty (Ray) Hedin of Pearl River, LA, Sharon Matson of Janesville, Barb (Randy) Manecke of Kronenwetter, Joan (Rich) Dahl of Medford, sisters-in-law, Irene (Chris) Christian of Janesville and Joan Shadrick of Granton. He is also survived by many nieces/nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Jack & Dennis Shadrick, and his in-laws, Earl & Darlene Wegerer.
