KEITH M. GORICHS

 



Keith M. Gorichs, 85, Medford died on Sunday, September 13 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital where he had been a patient for the past 2 weeks.

 Funeral services for Keith will be at 11 AM on Wednesday, September 16 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Medford with Rev. Rodger Prois officiating.  Visitation time will be from 10 AM until the time of services at 11 AM that day.  Military rites will be performed by the Medford Areal Military Honors Team.  Burial will take place at Medford Evergreen Cemetery II.  Pallbearers will family members, Jacob & David  Eckmann, Nicholas Gorichs, Willis Ziemer, Alex & James Imbach.

Keith was born on February 13, 1935 in Whittlesey to August and Florence (Fruzen) Gorichs.  He attended Chelsea Grade School and was a 1954 graduate of Medford High School.   His first marriage took place on May 23, 1964 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Medford to Patricia A. Ziemer and she preceded him in death November 14, 1991.  His second marriage took place on July 10, 1993, also at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Medford to Kathleen A. Heier and she survives.

 After his education, Keith served from 1955 to 1959 in the US Army 10th Mountain Division.  He also served for 2 years with the National Guard prior.  He worked for 43 years at Weather Shield Manufacturing in Medford until his retirement in 2000.  He enjoyed cards, fishing, traveling & serving as an honor guard with the Medford Area Military Honors Team.   He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Medford and the Medford VFW Club.

Surviving are his wife, Kathleen “Kathy” Gorichs of Medford, children, Pamela (David) Eckmann and Scott (Valerie) Gorichs, both of Wausau, and Sarah (James) Imbach of Whittlesey.  Also surviving are his grandchildren, Samantha & Jacob Eckmann, Nicholas & Benjamin Gorichs, Alex Imbach along with his great grandchildren, Ashton & Easton Imbach, siblings, Gerald (Barb) Gorichs of Norwell, MA, John “Jack” (Joan) Gorichs of Medford and Shirley Floryance of New Berlin, WI.  He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, and sisters, Donna Glamann, Sandy Anderson and Betty Gorichs in infancy.
