Viola G. Zielinski, 79, a Township of Greenwood resident,
died on Tuesday, September 1 at her residence under the loving care of her
family and Hope Hospice.
Funeral services for Viola will be held graveside at 10 am
on Saturday, September 5 at Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery, Medford with Rev.
David Clements officiating. Visitation
will be from 9 am until the time of services at 10 am on Saturday at the
cemetery. Due to COVID concerns, social
distancing will be appreciated. Serving
as pallbearers will be her grandsons, Kenneth & Brandon Zielinski, Dylan
Brusky, Sean Schreiner, Jimmy Anderson and Jonathan Wiegel.
Viola was born on March 30, 1941 at Westboro, WI, the
daughter of Merle and Gertrude (Francks) Smith.
She attended Westboro Elementary School and High School. Her marriage took place on April 11, 1959 in
Ogema to Lester “Les” R. Zielinski and he preceded her in death November 15,
2011.
After their marriage, they resided in various places. They farmed in the Township of Molitor for a
period of time, while residing in Plover, she worked at Del Monte and she also
worked at Gem Products in Rib Lake until
her retirement. She enjoyed camping,
gardening, baking, fishing, crocheting, bird watching, her beloved dog – “Cutie
Pie”, and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her children, Ken (Diane) Zielinski of
Plover, Tammie Zielinski, Jeanine (Donald Jr. “Chip”) Bartelt and Darla (Jeff)
Ewer, all of Medford, Michael (Mary Jo) Zielinski of Kronenwetter and Leslie
Zielinski of Colby. Also surviving are
21 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild on the way,
along with siblings, Noni (Richard) Zugier of Boyd and Vaughn (Amy) Smith of
Loyal. She was preceded in death by her
parents, husband, son, Galen Todd Zielinski, grandson, Rodney Dale Zielinski,
and her siblings, Richard Smith and Doris Griesbach.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given in
her name to Hope Hospice of Medford. Hemer
