Jane was born on November 17, 1947 in Medford to Arthur F. and Lucille H. (Schwieso) Gelhaus. She attended Holy Rosary Catholic School, was a 1965 graduate of Medford High School and also was a graduate of the Sacred Heart School of Nursing, West Allis. Her marriage took place on May 25, 1968 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Medford to Thomas Lee Leischer.
After her education, she worked as a nurse at St. Luke’s Hospital in Milwaukee. In 1971 they returned to Medford to raise their family. She enjoyed gardening, baking, canning and spending time with her family. She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Medford, Our Ladies of Holy Rosary, Holy Rosary Prayer Chain and was very active in her church. Tom & Jane spent their lives together loving and serving as a couple and living their vows in Faith.
She is survived by her husband Tom of Medford; children, Timothy (Stephanie) Leischer of Merrill, Gregory (Tammy) Leischer of Wausau, Kristine (Scott) Guinter of Green Bay, Katie (Bob) Lisi of Duluth, MN, Andrew (Tabitha) Leischer of Appleton and Matthew Leischer of Superior; grandchildren, William, Madeline, Kaitlyn, Megan, Benjamin, Kaden, Joshua, Jacob, Jenna, Jared, John Paul, Joseph, Jianna, Isaac, Maya, Noranna, Samuel, Owen, Henry, Isabella, Andrew, Sadie and Lucianna; great grandchildren, Jackson and Grace; siblings, Sally (Tony) Kovacik of Milwaukee, Carol (Roland Griffen) Gelhaus of South Carolina, Laura (Dennis) Zuleger of Medford, Susan (Lyle) Jones of Wausau, Peter (Jeanine) Gelhaus of Appleton, Charles (Linda) Gelhaus of Medford, Donna (Steve) Smitala of Schofield, Mark (Linda) Gelhaus of Caledonia and Bob (Rhonda) Gelhaus of Milwaukee. She was preceded in death by her parents, step-mother, Helen Sapetta Gelhaus, siblings, Mary and Nicholas Gelhaus.

contributions be given to either Holy Rosary Church and School, or Hope Hospice
of Medford, or Abiding Care PRC of Medford.
