MAL-HUI FISCHER

Mal-Hui Fischer, 68, Medford, died on Sunday, November 22 at her residence under the loving care of her family and Hope Hospice.

Memorial services will be held at 11 AM on Friday, November 27 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Medford with Father Patrick McConnell officiating.  Visitation will be at the church from 10 AM until the time of services at 11 AM that day.  Due to COVID concerns, masks will be required for the visitation and funeral.  Burial of her cremated remains will be in Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery, Medford.

She was born on January 8, 1952 in Jinhae, South Korea, the daughter of Ock Jin and Jae Soon (Choi) Kim.  She attended South Korean schools.  Her marriage took place on January 10, 1985 at the US Embassy in Seoul South Korea to Steven Peter Fischer.

After her education, she worked as a waitress at the Navy Chief’s Club in South Korea.  After marriage they moved to the USA in 1986, returned to South Korea in 1990 and upon her husband’s retirement, they moved to Medford in 1994.  She worked as a doughboy operator for Tombstone Pizza Corp. until her retirement.  She enjoyed golfing, bowling, fishing, traveling and shaking dice.  She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Medford, Our Ladies of Holy Rosary, Tee-Hi Golf Club, and the ladies bowling league.

Surviving are her husband, Steven of Medford, children, Peter Richard Fischer of Madison and Kimberly Ann Fischer of Appleton.  Also surviving are her mother-in-law, Angeline Patton of Medford, siblings, Ae Hui (Jung Kwan Lee) Kim, Yang Hui Kim, and Shin Jip Kim all of South Korea and Shin (Nam Sook) Kim of Los Angeles, CA.  She was preceded in death by her parents and 3 half-brothers.
