Marlene R. Hinke, 86, of Medford, passed away on Monday, December 21, 2020 at Aspirus Hospital in Medford.
Cremation rites have been accorded and private family services will be held at a later date.
Marlene was born on October 26, 1934 to Peter and Goldie (Lapp) Schumacher in Dorchester on the family farm. She attended Liberty School and Dorchester High School. She married Bryce A. Hinke on April 24, 1951 at the Dorchester Catholic Church. Together they farmed for 28 years in Dorchester. They sold the farm and moved to Little Black in 1976. She also worked at the Centennial Hall for 7 years and County Market for 8 years. For most of her life she worked as a housewife and mother.
She was a great herdswoman. She enjoyed flowers, playing cards, hunting, picking berries, and could out fish anyone.
She will be remembered for countless baked good and meals made for family and friends.
Marlene is survived by her husband, Bryce; son, Ken (Cyndy Meyer) Hinke of Medford; grandsons, Randy (Ginny), Mike (Margo), and Matt Hinke; 3 great-grandchildren, Ava, Hunter, and Dallas Hinke, 2 step-grandsons, Kaden and Aniken Maschusak. Marlene is further survived by nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.
Marlene is preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Judy Jahnke; 2 brothers, Bob and Melvin Schumacher; 3 sisters, Aggie Zirngible, Verna Webber, and Cecilia Johnson.
