RUTH E. ARNDT

Ruth E. Arndt, 92, Medford, died on Wednesday, December 23 at Abbotsford Health Care Center where she had resided for the past 6 months. 

Memorial services for Ruth will take place at a later date.  Burial will be at Medford Evergreen Cemetery II. 

Ruth was born on April 23, 1928 at Stetsonville, WI, the daughter of Herman and Helen (Tindula) Niemuth.  She attended Stetsonville area schools and Medford High School.  She received a degree in cosmetology from the Eau Claire School of Cosmetology.  Her marriage took place on August 30, 1947 at Zion Ev. Lutheran Church, Stetsonville to Ernest F. Arndt and he preceded her in death on October 13, 2012. 

She worked most of her life as a housewife & mother, also assisting the family with their mink and ginseng ranch.  She enjoyed world travels, reading, baking and walking.  She was a charter member and past treasurer of First Baptist Church, Medford.  She was also active in the church as a Sunday school teacher and assisted with the AWANA program.  She was a past treasurer for the North Central Mink Association and the Medford Mink Club. 

Surviving are her sons, Bryan (Paula) Arndt of Medford and Brad Arndt of St. Paul, MN; grandchildren, Leslie (Tyler) Reed, Paul (April) Kim, Kyle (Amanda) Arndt, Jon Arndt, Jennifer (Darrell) Gatling, Natalie Arndt, Janelle Arndt and Michelle Dunn; great-grandchildren, Daisy, Hazel, Henry, Alex, Beau, Tatiana, Zachary, Kenya, Raya, Jaishon, Qyntynne, Michael, Mikaylee, Christopher & Grayson.  Also surviving are her siblings, Vivian (Henry) Hintges of Minnesota, Elaine Fritsche of Dorchester and Marvin Niemuth of Stetsonville; sisters-in-law, Ellen Niemuth of Eau Claire & Carol Arndt of Medford.  She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; grandchildren, Melody Arndt, Jason & Christopher Balla; siblings, Rachel Weiler, Pearl Renelt, Mabel Habermeyer, Sally Vlach, Beatrice Ludwig, Vernon & Glenn Niemuth, Melvin in infancy.
