Harold D. Bizer, 90, of Medford, passed away quietly at home
on Friday, February 22, 2019 under the care of his loving family and Hope
Hospice.
He was born on October 2, 1928 to Julius and Jennie
(Neuendorf) Bizer. He attended Mathey School, graduated from Medford High School
in 1946, and attended River Falls University for 3 years. He began employment with
Paul Michler and Son until his retirement. He served as an Army MP in Europe
from 1952 until 1954. He returned home, resumed his employment, and married
Joan Wesle in 1955. He worked hard as a dairy farmer until his son David took
over the farm in 1993. He was a faithful member of Christ Lutheran Church.
Harold and Joan worked together as partners, farming and
raising four children, Suzanne (George) Mathews of Medford, Linda (Rick)
Sorensen of Onalaska, David (Dawn) Bizer of Medford, and Brian (Kristi) Bizer
of Reno, NV. He cherished his 4 grandchildren, Dustin Mathews, Leigh (Mike)
Henline, Jackie (Josh Gallhardt) Bizer, and Derrick Bizer, all of Medford. He was “Big
Papa” to 3 great-grandchildren, Andrew, Madelyn, and Abigail Henline, who
brought him joy and amusement.
Harold loved God, family, and country. He believed in and
enjoyed hard work, all things mechanical, historical, and nature. He enjoyed
fishing with his dog “Tipper”, attending auctions, garage sales, and 3rd
Tuesday lunches with his dear friends. He was still able to beat his love,
Joan, at Rummy at least half of the time. He will be greatly missed for his
ability to fix anything and willingness to help anyone at any time.
A memorial service for Harold will take place at 11:00 AM on
Thursday, February 28, 2019 at Christ Lutheran Church in Abbotsford, with
Pastor Donald Bruce officiating. Burial will take place at Medford Evergreen
Cemetery I at a later date. Visitation will take place on Wednesday, February
27, 2019 at Hemer Funeral Home – Medford Chapel from 4:00 PM until 7:00
PM. Visitation will continue at Christ
Lutheran Church on Thursday, February 28, 2019 from 10:00 AM until the time of
