PLACE, DATE & TIME OF DEATH: 3:45 P.M. Monday, September 24 at the Memorial Nursing and Rehab Center, Medford where he had resided for the past 1 year, surrounded by his loving family and under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care Hospice.

TIME & PLACE OF FUNERAL: 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, September 26 at the First Baptist Church, Medford where full military honors will be performed by the Medford Area Military Honors

OFFICIATING: Rev. Brian Wipf

PUBLIC BURIAL: 10:00 A.M. Saturday, October 6 at Lakeside Cemetery in Hancock, Michigan, with a reception to follow.

VISITATION AT: 1:00 P.M. until the time of services at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, September 26 at the First Baptist Church, Medford

DATE & PLACE OF BIRTH: June 2, 1929 in Hancock, Michigan

EDUCATION: 1947 Graduate of Hancock High School, Received his Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering from Michigan Technological College in Houghton, Michigan

MARRIAGE INFORMATION: September 2, 1950 in Hancock, Michigan to Joan M. Pike and she preceded him in death on May 18, 2008

PRINCIPAL EVENTS IN LIFE: After college, Fred entered the U.S. Army where he served during the Korean War from September 1951 to August 1953. They moved to Altoona, Wisconsin in 1962 and lived until 1977 where he worked as a sales representative for the Nagle-Hart Caterpillar Dealership in Eau Claire. From 1977-1979 they moved to Marquette where he was a sales representative for Kramer Machinery. They then moved to Medford where he worked as a Project Manager/Civil Engineer at James Peterson’s Son Inc. until his retirement in 1995. They then moved back to Houghton where he enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, the "Camp". He enjoyed spending time with his friends and family.

SURVIVING CHILDREN: Colleen Sundquist of San Francisco, California, Mark (Jan) Sundquist of Munising, Michigan, Roger Sundquist of Waukesha, Wisconsin, Becky (Rob) Murray of Pinole, California and DeDe (John) Strama of Medford

OTHER INFORMATION: An open house/reception will be held from 3:00 P.M. till 6:00 P.M. at the Filling Station, Medford formerly known as Strama’s. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Fred’s family to be designated at a later date. Hemer Funeral Home of Medford is assisting the family with arrangements.
