Prior to losing her vision, Lucille enjoyed reading, doing crossword puzzles, working in the yard, sewing, picking berries and baking. She also volunteered extensively at Holy Rosary Catholic School, Medford.

MARRIAGE: 1st:   June 1, 1950 at Zion Ev. Lutheran Church, Stetsonville to Sylvia Mae Koch and she preceded him in death November 11, 1981; 2nd:   Aug. 4, 1989 at Phillips to Helen J. Pearson Cummings and she survives

 

PRINCIPAL EVENTS IN LIFE: US Army veteran of WW II serving in the European Theater from 1944 to 1945.  After the service, he drove gravel, logging and gas truck from 1946 to 1950.  He purchased a milk route in 1950 and operated it for 16 years, during which time he also operated a dairy farm south of Stetsonville on Hwy. 13 in the Town of Deer Creek.  He later sold the milk route and purchased a US Star Mail route in 1966.  After his 2nd marriage, they resided in Town of Ogema where he enjoyed making maple syrup, puttering in the woods, fishing, gardening and spending time with his grandchildren.

She then worked at Northern Merchandise for 17 years until her retirement in 2007. Karon enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family.

PRINCIPAL EVENTS IN LIFE: After her marriage, they resided in Riplinger, Oshkosh, and in 1946 moved to Rib Lake.  They owned and operated a plumbing, heating, and bottle gas business for a period of time.  They built the Rib Lake Laundry Matt.  She also worked at the Rib Lake Shoe Factory & clerked at the IGA Grocery Store.  They moved to Horseshoe Bend, AR in 1975, residing there until moving into Country Gardens in Medford 1 year ago.  She enjoyed fishing, traveling, bowling, skating & had her private pilot’s license, enjoying flying.  She was an artist, taking lessons from Joe O’Brein.

PRINCIPAL EVENTS IN LIFE: They owned and operated a dairy farm in the Town of Medford until 1971. Loretta was also a housewife and mother. She enjoyed gardening, fishing, playing cards, camping, polka music and dancing, bird watching and flowers.
