They moved to Medford and he taught school & was a principal in the Owen school district for a period of time. During the summer months, he worked concrete construction in the Thorp area. They farmed in the Town of Holway and did area real estate work for periods of time. In retirement he delivered parts for Northwest Trucks. He enjoyed gardening, woodworking, drawing, fishing, hunting, traveling, social talking, making chili & spending time with his family.

He has served as a board member and volunteer to organizations that benefit others including Stepping Stones, Taylor County Literacy Council, and the Salvation Army. His Leadership as president of Family Health Center of Marshfield has brought forth several dental clinics for people in need in North Central WI. His love for music was apparent, as he sang with church choirs and the Central Chamber Chorale for over 25 years.

She enjoyed traveling, playing pool, camping, fishing, collecting angels, shopping, cooking & spending time with her grandchildren.

Joan enjoyed spending time at her lake home on North Twin Lake. In her younger years, she liked snowmobile riding. She loved baking cookies at Christmas time, flowers and spending time with her family.
