She enjoyed cross country skiing, gardening flowers, hunting with her husband, country music, the Rhinelander Hodag, bird watching, and her Pontiac car.

FREDERICK A. PFLUGHOEFT

Pflughoeft, Frederick August D.D.S. M.S.
Was born August 15, 1922 and spent his childhood in Medford, Wisconsin. He passed peacefully at home in Wauwatosa, Sunday February 21, 2016.
F. A. Pflughoeft (Fritz) attended Marquette University and completed his degree in dentistry in 1945. He served his country as a Lieutenant in the U. S. Navy from graduation to 1947, spending most of that time in the Philippines. He met and married Roylee Ross in 1948. After a couple years in private practice, Fritz joined the Veterans Administration Hospital system working in South Dakota, Wisconsin and Connecticut before returning to Wood VA Hospital in Milwaukee, WI in 1959. He became a board certified prosthodontist and taught at Marquette Dental School part-time. He retired from the VA in 1977 and continued at Marquette for many more years.
Fritz is survived by his wife of 67 years, Roylee; 3 children Jane Plowman, Martha (Bill Klinner) and John (Amy); 4 grandchildren Rachel Klinner Mildbrand (Thomas), Peter Klinner (Jackie), Lauren Pflughoeft and Dana Pflughoeft; also two great-grandchildren Carly and Graham Mildbrand.
Photography, travel, marine history, fishing, curling were a few of his many interests.
Visitation at St. Matthews Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1615 Wauwatosa Ave., Wauwatosa on Saturday March 5, 2016 at 2:00 pm. Memorial service at 3:00 pm. A private burial will take place at Medford Evergreen Cemetery at a later date.

EDUCATION: She attended Athens Area High School. Pauline then attended Medford Area Normal School and finished her teaching degree in Stevens Point.

MARRIAGE: On June 1, 1946, Pauline married the love of her life Arthur E. Kornack at St. Anthony’s Church in Athens and he preceded her in death in 1996

PRINCIPLE EVENTS IN LIFE: Pauline started teaching in Gad before taking time off to raise her family. She then taught for 32 years in the Athens, Colby and Edgar areas before retiring. In her retirement, Pauline continued to teach as a substitute teacher for many years. She enjoyed playing cards, coffee and toast with friends, solving puzzles, but most of all she loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She especially saved her weekends to share with them through visits or phone calls from those that were unable to visit.

PRINCIPLE EVENTS IN LIFE: After graduating high school, James enlisted and served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1962 – 1966 - PFC James A. Millikin Jr. was a rifleman with Delta Company, 1st Battalion, 7th Marines, 1st Marine Division. He served two tours in Vietnam and was awarded the Vietnam Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and Good Conduct Medal. In 1966 James was involved in an accident and suffered very serious injuries leaving him a disabled veteran for the remainder of his years. Jim was quiet and very generous, always willing to help out anyone in need. He enjoyed country & western music and movies along with his pride and joy (his “homestead”) and was a proud Marine until the day he died. James always had a great sense of humor and was very kind and polite to all. He had battled cancer over the last 15 years, until it finally ended his life.

SURVIVING CHILDREN: 2 sons – James P. Millikin III (Kelly Story) of Monomonie WI and Shawn M. Millikin (Angela Zastrow) of Wausau WI; 2 stepchildren – Karen Sveom of Dousman WI and Christopher Bushar of Milwaukee WI; 14 grandchildren/great-grandchildren.

She then returned to Medford where she met Albert, and became a house wife, and raised her family. She also helped Albert, who owned The Hillside Mink Ranch until retirement. Margaret enjoyed her children, grandchildren, reading, completing crossword puzzles, attending church, and shopping.

MEMBER OF: United Church of Christ, served as President of the Women’s Guild for 4 years, and secretary for 30 years.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, reading, the outdoors, yard work, and spending time with his family.

Alvin and Edna planted over ¼ of a million trees. She also worked at the Medford CO-OP and K-Mart. Edna enjoyed shopping, traveling to different destinations around the United States, square dancing, and feeding the different wild life such as bear, deer and fish on the family farm. She loved her family, and especially her grandchildren. She loved all children, and treated them like they were her own.

PRINCIPLE EVENTS IN LIFE: After her attending the University of Wisconsin- La Crosse, she taught elementary education in the Park Falls School District, in Stratford at the Stratford Catholic School, and in Milwaukee at St. Adalbert Catholic School. She moved to Medford in 1992 where she owned/operated The Rubber Room stamping business out of her home, taught jail inmates to get their GED for Taylor County, and then was the gifted & talented teacher at Medford Elementary School. At the time of her death, she was a 1st grade teacher at Stetsonville Elementary School. She was the wonderful and loving mother of three daughters and the most incredible wife. She lived every day overflowing with vitality and life and encouraged those around her to do the same. She was certainly a lover of all things fun and enjoyed outdoor activities especially ice fishing, snowmobiling, boating, snowshoeing, biking, camping and spending time at the cabin on Lake Solberg with family and friends. She also enjoyed rooting for the Green Bay Packers, Jimmy Buffet music, being a parrothead, and her husband’s cooking because she never did quite master the expertise of cooking herself.
