DENNIS L. FRISCHMAN

Dennis L. Frischman, 68, Township of Chelsea, passed away on Wednesday September 20, 2017 at his residence under the care of Hope Hospice & Palliative Care.
He was born on July 14, 1949 in Medford, WI to the late Erwin and Lorraine (Fischer) Frischman. He was married to Jean (Schreiner) Frischman on September 14, 1996 in Medford, WI. They celebrated their 21st anniversary earlier this month.  He attended Whittlesey Grade School, Pleasant Heights Middle School and Medford Senior High where he graduated in 1967.
Dennis worked for Weather Shield Windows for 37 years until he retired May 5, 2008. He was a member of the Army National Guard where he earned the rank of Sargent 1st class and a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Medford.   
In his spare time he enjoyed hunting, fishing, bean bags, bowling, playing cards and golfing.
Dennis is survived by his loving wife Jean Frischman; Children: Corey Frischman of Medford and Dena Purdue of Medford; Sister: Jerene Loeffler of Medford; Brother: Butch (Claire) Frischman of Medford; 4 grandchildren.  
In addition to his parents Dennis is preceded in death by his sisters, Carol and Linda Frischman and Step-Son Brad Schreiner.  
Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday September 23, 2017 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Whittlesey. Pastor Randal Jeppesen will officiate. Burial will be at Lakeview Cemetery in Rib Lake at a later date. Visitation will be held at the church Friday September 22, 2017 from 4:00-7:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Saturday September 23, 2017 from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM.

CHRISTINE M. MAYER


Christine M. Mayer, 92, of Medford, passed away peacefully on Thursday September 21, 2017 at Aspirus Care and Rehab in Medford.
Christine was born October 24, 1924 in Medford to Louis and Catherine (Fuchs) Erl. She is a 1942 graduate of Medford Sr. High. She married George F. Mayer at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Medford on October 7, 1944, George preceded her in death on April 19, 1997.
Christine is survived by her Son: Bob (Jane) Mayer of Greenville, SC, Daughter in Law Patricia Mayer of Medford, Grandchildren: Melissa Mayer of Northbrook, IL, David Mayer of Bayside, and Brian (Kai Young) Mayer of San Francisco, CA.
She is further preceded in death by her Parents, Son Richard Mayer, Granddaughter Kristin Mayer McGee, one Sister and six Brothers.
Christine served as the Postmaster in Chelsea, and also was a homemaker and farmer.
Christine loved to spend time in her garden, and was very talented at knitting, crocheting and sewing. She enjoyed baking cakes for weddings and other special family events, and made delicious brownies. She had a passion for polka music and dancing. Most of all, she loved her family, especially her grandchildren.
She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church and lifelong member of Assumption Catholic Church in Chelsea.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday September 23, 2017 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Father Phil Juza will officiate. Burial will follow in Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Holy Rosary Church on Saturday from 9:30 AM until the time of Mass at 11:00 AM.

FLORENCE PREMEAU - SLONIKER

Florence Premeau -Sloniker, 89, of Clark County, passed away on Tuesday September 12, 2017 at Clark County Rehab & Living Center.

Florence was born on November 15, 1927 to Jacob and Anna Kapfhamer in Medford. She married Rodger A. Premeau on September 3, 1947; he preceded her in death in February of 1968. Together they owned and operated several dry cleaning businesses in Wisconsin and one in Michigan before purchasing and operating Hi-Way Cleaners in Medford. After Rodger’s passing Florence ran the business independently until 1973. They also owned and operated a farm east of Medford. She and her husband had four children. She married Ed Sloniker on October 13, 1973; he survives. They moved to Greenwood, where she was actively involved with his duties as mayor.

In her spare time she enjoyed her family, talking, listening, laughing, walking, working, horseback riding, gardening, sewing, traveling, fishing, and spending time at her cottage.

In addition to her husband Ed of Abbotsford, she is survived by her four children, Michael (Mary Lynn) Premeau of Norwalk, Jeffery Premeau of Kennan, Dr. Cheri (Michael Horton) Premeau of Waverly, TN, and Chad (Mary) Premeau of Merrill, five grandchildren, Heather (Richard) Miles, Rodger (Melissa) Premeau, Steven Premeau, Kayla Premeau, and Mischa Premeau, and 3 great-grandchildren, sisters Irene Piller of Appleton and Sandra Dahl of Medford. She is further survived by many other family and friends.

In addition to her first husband, Rodger, Florence is preceded in death by her brother Edward Kapfhamer and sisters Eleanor Scimeca and Helen Seibel.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, September 16, 2017 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Medford. Father David Nueschwander will officiate. Burial will be at Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be held at Hemer Funeral Home in Medford on Friday, September 15, 2017 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM. Visitation will continue at Holy Rosary Catholic Church on Saturday, September 16, 2017 from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM.

JANINE D. KLOTH

Janine D. Kloth, 54, of Stetsonville, died Wednesday September 6, 2017 at her residence, under the care of Ministry Health Hospice.
Janine was born June 11, 1963 in Medford Wisconsin. She is a graduate of Rib Lake High School, and received an Associates Degree from North Central Technical College. She married Duane A. Blasel on Nov. 11, 1989, he preceded her in death on November 5, 2000. She then married James E. Kloth on August 13, 2005 at Zion Lutheran Church in Stetsonville. James survives.
She is further survived by her Daughters: Kristie (Ben) Petznick of Stetsonville, Sarah (John Birdyshaw) Blasel of Ripon, Grandson Jacoby Petznick, Step Daughter Ashley (Tracy Kautzer) Minsaas of Stetsonville, and Stepgrandchildren: Taiylor, Aliah, and Trevor Minsaas.
Janine worked for Weather Shield Windows, Hurd Millwork, Phillip Plastics, Maple Islands, and Marshfield Clinic. She loved to travel the country with her Husband James. She enjoyed all things outdoors especially hunting, fishing camping and four wheeling, and also attending car shows and truck pulls.
Janine was a self proclaimed “foodie” and enjoyed cooking and creating new recipes. She always could find a reason to host a cookout and have her family over. She loved her family and spending time with all of them, especially her grandchildren.
She was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Stetsonville, and the Moonlight Snow Cats Snowmobile Club where she served as past secretary.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday September 9, 2017 at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church. Rev. Richard Russo will officiate. Burial will follow at Medford Evergreen Cemetery II. Visitation will be held Saturday morning at the church from 9:00 until the time of service at 11:00 AM.
Memorial donations in honor of Janine can be given to her family, for designation at a later date.

ALVIN R. SCHMUDLACH


Alvin R. Schmudlach, 90, of Rib Lake, passed away on Tuesday, September 5 in Tomahawk. He was born on March 27, 1927 to Herman and Myrtle Schmudlach in Spirit, WI. He married Carol File on November 24, 1956, she precedes him in death.

At age 15 he got a special license to drive milk truck. He served in the US Army during WWII. After being discharged, he bought a dairy farm and worked on the homestead until retirement.

In his spare time he loved to travel and sight see, raise bees, spend time with his family, and playing cards, especially Skipbo.

Alvin is survived by his three children, Rodney and Randel Schmudlach, and Dawn (Greg Quednow) Krueger, all of Rib Lake. He is further survived by 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren with one on the way.

In addition to his wife and parents, Alvin is preceded in death one sister, Zelma Ehlert, 4 brothers, Raymond, Harvey, Norman, and LaVerne, and one great-grandchild Adrian.

Funeral Services for Alvin will be on Monday September 11 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Rib Lake. Visitation will take place on Sunday September 10 at St. John’s Lutheran Church from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Monday September 11 at St. John’s Lutheran Church from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM.

RUTH H. SCHRAUTH

Ruth H. Schrauth, 92, of Medford, passed away September 5, 2017 at Aspirus Hospital in Medford.
She was born May 30, 1925 in Medford, WI to the late John and Freida (Fischer) Schmidt. She was married to the late Louis Malchow in 1946 who passed away in 1963. She then married the late Alvin Schrauth in 1966 and enjoyed there 41 years together until his passing in 2007.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday September 11, 2017 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Medford. Father Phil Juza will officiate. Burial will follow at Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church Monday September 11, 2017 from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM.
Ruth was well known for owning and operating Malchow Grocery in Medford from 1953 until her retirement in 1976. She enjoyed all the customers and memories made at the grocery store. She also enjoyed cooking, sewing, quilting, spending time with her family and friends, cook books, magazines and gardening her vegetables and plants.
She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
Ruth is survived by her children: Ilene (Michael) Grant of Medford and Gary Malchow of Madison; Grandson: James (Penny) Grant of Medford; Great Grandchildren: Avery and Anthony Grant of Medford; Sisters: Louise Piller of Watertown and Gloria (Mark Hartman) Spreen of Medford; Brothers: Roy Schmidt of Sussex and Ervin (Delores) Schmidt of Medford; Sister-In-Law: Christine Schmidt of Cedarberg.

JOHN J. JAQUET


John J. Jaquet, 17 months, of West Allis, passed away Sunday September 3, 2017 in Medford.

John was born April 2, 2016 in Racine to Robert and Justice (Skovera) Jaquet. Robert and Justice survive.

He is further survived by his siblings: Bridgit and Dominic Jaquet, Grandparents: Jim & Maggie Skovera of Mt. Pleasant and Roger & Connie Macklin of Superior. He is preceded in death by his Grandfather Jon Yunker, and Uncle Jonathon Mutchie.

John will always be remembered by his sweet spirit, and will be forever dancing.

Cremation rites have been accorded, and no services will be held.

RITA M. EISNER

Rita Marie Eisner, 72, of Rib Lake, passed away Saturday, September 2, 2017 at Aspirus Medford Hospital.
Rita was born October 14, 1944 in Chelsea, WI to Albert and Cecilia (Poehnelt) Olson. Rita married Charles Eisner, Sr., on April 29, 1962. Charles survives.
She is further survived by her Children: Allan (Lisa) Eisner of Rib Lake, Jeff (Lisa) Eisner of Merrill, Brenda (Peter) Jones of Ladysmith, Connie (Jeff Mauch) Eisner of Ogema, Linda (Paul) Newman of Rib Lake, 10 Grandchildren, 9 Great Grandchildren, Brother LeRoy “Butch” (Deretta) Olson of Chelsea, and many nieces and nephews.
Rita is preceded in death by her Parents, Son Charles “Fritz” Eisner, Jr., Sister Pat Faude and Brother Thomas Olson, and her beloved Dachshund Fritz.
Rita worked for Gem Products in Rib Lake, and then went on to work in housekeeping at the Rib Lake Golden Living Center, where she retired from in 2008. She was an avid Green Bay Packer fan, NASCAR and local dirt track racing fan. She enjoyed sewing, embroidery and completing word searches. She was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday September 6, 2017 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church. Father Otto Bucher will officiate. Burial will follow in Lakeview Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday September 5, from 5:00-7:00 PM, and also from 10:00 AM until the time of mass at 11:00 AM, at Good Shepherd Catholic Church. Visitation will conclude Tuesday Night with a Rosary Service at 7:00 PM.

DAVID A. JOHNAS

David A. Johnas, 54, of Medford, passed away September 2, 2017 at Aspirus Hospital in Medford.
David was born June 7, 1963 in Medford, Wisconsin to Frank and Gladys (Nelson) Johnas. David married the love of his life Nancy “D.D.” Motte on October 3, 2008. They enjoyed every moment they spent together and life will not be the same without David. He loved life more than anything and especially his love for his family and friends.

In 1986, David bought his first dump truck. As owner and operater he was working for Pitlik and Wick out of Eagle River at the time of his death. In 1999, he purchased logging equipment and started his own logging business which he owned and operated during the winter months with his brother John and nephew Michael. He loved to work and took pride in what he did and had amazing compassion for his coworkers. He was the kind of man that would do anything for anyone and would give the shirt off his back for you. He loved working on “The Ranch”. Nancy and David love the nicknames of each other “Frank and Fran”.
He enjoyed fixing machinery, working in the woods, teaching everyone how to waterski and spending time with his wife, daughters, brothers, sisters, grandchildren, nieces and nephews and many friends. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, September 5 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Medford with Rev. James Krueger officiating. Burial will follow at St. Ann's Cemetery in the Town of Greenwood. Visitation will be Monday, September 4 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Hemer Funeral Home in Medford. Visitation will continue September 5 at 10:00 AM until the time of service 11:00 AM at the church.
