Moved to the Town of Medford in 1950 and worked as a bookkeeper for D & D Service in Medford from 1972 – 1982. In 1999 she moved to Marshfield. She enjoyed reading, elephants, Brewers baseball & watching Jeopardy.

Jerome also worked at the Medford Co-op Feed Mill and then the Sturdy Craft Co. which then was bought out by Marathon Cheese Company until his retirement at the age of 66. He enjoyed fishing, carpentry work and traveling. Jerome also enjoyed watching the Packers, the Brewers, Lawrence Welk and westerns.

In his younger years, Earl and Vi raised and showed Appaloosa horses. He enjoyed deer hunting and visiting with folks. Earl helped family and friends build several homes and garages.

PRINCIPLE EVENTS IN LIFE: After high school Dean earned a bachelor’s degree in Business & Marketing from UW-Eau Claire. He then went on to work as a sales representative in the Twin Cities and Eau Claire area from 1979 to 1987. The family moved to the Marshfield area, where Dean worked as a sales/provider relations representative for Security Health Plan from 1987 to 1999. They moved to the Medford area where Dean worked at the Hedlund Agency from 2000 to 2007. In high school Dean enjoyed participating in football, basketball, baseball, and track. His passion for sports continued into adulthood. Dean enjoyed coaching his sons and other youth; he received the Marshfield Youth Baseball Coach of the Year Award. Dean often cheered on the Brewers, Packers, and Badgers. He enjoyed sailing at the Apostle Islands and was an avid downhill skier and outdoorsman, enjoying both hunting and fishing. He was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, and friend. Facing the challenges of Huntington’s Disease, Dean and his family worked to raise awareness in hopes of one day finding a cure.

After their marriage, the Hamanns farmed in the Town of Medford from 1946-1977 when they sold all but four acres of their farm on which they built a new home. Dorothy worked for Black Bear Inn and in the bakery at Holiday Village, retiring in 1980. She enjoyed bowling, crafts, quilting, crocheting, gardening and shopping.

She enjoyed bowling, softball, gardening, flowers, mowing lawn, cards and her grandchildren’s sporting events.
